Trudeau is pathetic. Bringing an actual Nazi into the House of Commons. Freeland must have known this guy was a Nazi, maybe a friend of her grandfather. Trudeau called the truckers "Nazi's." Stupid ignorant hypocrit.
Jaroslav Hunka is an actual Nazi.
Trudeau says "Russian disinformation." Like Hunter's laptop.

After 2 walks and the pitcher not being able to find the plate to you don’t swing until he throws at least one strike, especially with the bases loaded.
The 3rd strike was a ball.
Schneider needs to go - he should have lost his poop in this game at the terrible calls at the plate and been booted already.
BRING BACK GIBBY!!! (But I feel like Mattingly is the new bench boss next year). - Cush29
In my opinion, Don Mattingly is not the answer behind the bench. His job as the bench boss is to work with the players and be the players' answer for the coach and management. There's a fair bit of discontent in the locker room that goes unaddressed. As bench boss, I think Mattingly has some responsibility there. I suspect Mattingly views it as an opportunity to supplant Schneider and does nothing.
That said, Schneider is not a good manager. Neither, for the record, is Mattingly - he had 7 losing seasons in Miami (his 31-29 record in the shortened 2020 would have been a losing record I have no doubt!), and while he did have winning seasons in LA, they were never as good as that roster would have dictated - never exceeding 94 wins in a season in 5 years - and his successor, Dave Roberts, has won over 100 5 times in 8 seasons (I'm saying they do it this year) and likely would have done it a 6th if not for the shortened 2020 season.

You know your team is trending in the wrong direction when your local bloggers are trying to pump up Michael Eyssimont into something. - GalacticStone
Here's the crazy thing about Eyssimont . . I've watched him play and have never been impressed. But in 5v5 HD Chances For / 60, he was 11th in the league last year:
M. Tkachuk
Point
Nylander
Meier
Guentzel
Kucherov
Matthews
Bennett
Verhaeghe
Palat
Eyssimont
Tatar
Hyman
Hertl
McDavid
Crosby
Bergeron
Svechnikov
Bratt
Rakell
B. Tkachuk
Hagel
Similarly, and just as impressively, he was 6th in 5v5 expected Goals:
Matthews
B. Tkachuk
Meier
Lee
Hyman
Eyssimont
Zucker
Thompson
Tavares
Foegele
This is a guy who is playing the right way - and if he keeps it up and can maintain it, there's a greater chance that success will follow. I thought it was a savvy move to acquire him, even if it didn't pay off immediately.
He shouldn't be the guy you pin your hopes on, but . . .

I saw that. He has some nice fancy stats in a couple of narrow areas. I guess any time you find yourself ranked on a list along with Matthews and Ducherov, you must be doing something right.
He's an upgrade over Maroon, that's for sure, at worst.

Just curious.... how much power to delete/ban do moderators have here on HB?
If Dozer wanted to implement a 100% ban on political talk, could he do that by deleting posts and banning posters? Or do those decisions have to run through Eklund?
I remember asking the old Tampa blogger that same question and he said he didn't have the ability to delete posts in his own discussion threads. That would be a deal-breaker for me as a writer for this site. I wouldn't blog for a site where I didn't have the basic ability to police my own threads.

Refs can delete posts and ban posters. Perhaps the blogger couldn't do so, but the refs can.

You let the 4th pitch go by even if it was right down the pipe. But the 2nd strike he had to swing at, pretty much same location.
The terrible calls went both ways, the ump wasnt on his A game.
Gibby has been great post coaching, touring Canada and has a podcast. - Fakepartofme
If your a confident hitter you probably make the pitcher who has thrown all balls minus the odd strike a 2nd strike to you before you swing. Vladdy's been hot and cold so him not swinging on the 2nd one is a bit of a m'eh moment but if he had walked we would all be saying how much patience he showed and how good an eye he has.
Maybe I had on the biased bi-focals but i felt the Jays got jobbed on more calls at the plate that had a bigger influence on the game than the Yank-me's did. I could be wrong but they Jays simply didn't cash when they needed to.
Magic # is still 3 and today is a new ball game.

Not sure why they would care what is said in threads. Their interest is in how much is said in their threads. That’s what made Tanner a genius blogger. He understood that volume > content.

Oh don't get me wrong I don't want Mattingly over Gibby but I see it happening because Mattingly has been there and is a bigger name vs the argument some will make about Gibby being out of the game for awhile and just being a redo in Toronto.

Mods can delete any post they want and they can ban at will also there is no secondary review or approval for either at the time. People can (and do) go to the folks who run the site to complain and sometimes *(rarely)* a ban is lifted or shortened in length.
Bloggers aren't mods so they don't have that ability.
And my (well known) opinion on political talk (and some other topics like religion) here is that it should not be permitted at all - hard stop. It's too volatile and descends into BS name calling and the likes far too quickly and there was a time when it was simply deleted but Dozzer can't be here 24/7/365 and too many people can't help themselves so it is how it is.

If I was a blogger and part of the software is that a forum thread is automatically created when a new blog is posted, then I would want some moderator powers over that particular thread.
If the forum thread is attached/linked to the blog post, and the purpose of the thread is to discuss the blog article, then I would expect the blogger to have moderator privileges over that particular thread. Maybe not the entire forums, but certainly those threads attached to the blog articles.
When every thread devolves into a political poopshow, it makes the blogger look bad and it makes the entire site look bad. But, I guess it's obvious that Ek doesn't give a poop. Politics drives engagement and engagement equals revenue, so he's OK with his forums being a poopshow if it drives in traffic and sells ads.

Let's just say Ek isn't known for working too hard, so if that were the case, he'd still be on the hook for reviewing the nasty things I said about Margaret Thatcher.

Ditto. Agree 100%.
Everywhere else we go, we get bombarded with real world political drama. You can't escape it. Not even in a hockey forum.
