Let's see in 2yrs when he is 20, takes a few years from their drafted players to get strong enough. Add to that the Queen has never played on the NHL size rinks, gaps and angles are all different. Let's be patient, most drafted kids will start looking good in their early 20's, that's why rebuilding via the draft takes some time, usually over 5 yrs before you see sustainable results and that's if the guys you drafted develop according to projections.

Especially true for defencemen, they're usually in their mid 20s before they *really* start to click.

Well it's the safe bet in the public eye to bash on the young man. That's ok, he'll prove all of them wrong.

Just like how he's excluded from every prospect list evaluation on The Athletic despite his obvious skillset.

exactly. often players enter the league at 20-21 y/o, and then need another 2 seasons to find there marks.
Slaf was 18. now 19. patience. we'll worry 4-5 years from now.

He barely played the past 2yrs, we all know he needs mileage in the AHL but he has a great toolkit. It's just too easy to poop on rookies who are not ready to be significant contributors.

Just wait until Maxime Masse ends up with MTL and he is the new local hero for all those fefans like Therrien.
