The players to waive may be obvious to us, but the team's current management moves at a glacial speed when it comes to actually waiving a player, as they seem to have a phobia to potentially losing a player.

Seemed like you were suggesting something crazy, like a Benson conditioning assignment when Savoie's 2 weeks were up.
- Lunaion

They also tried that with Grigorenko and the NHL was like "lol, no"

When players were mentioned, you claimed Adams and company would make space if the player earned.

Now you're adding in other factors in addition to 'earning it'.

That allows you to basically say a player like Benson could never earn it, because he's not big enough yet.

Nice and convenient.

- kingcong39

I didn't say this. I said if he was cut, this would be the reason.

I'm not seeing where it was denied.

Only that it was likely to be denied.

Looks like Columbus is gonna be trapping heavily this year. I get that every team traps but 10 mins to go, down a goal, in the preseason and they completely abandon the forecheck! SMH 🤦‍♂️

Here's what we do, Savoie to IR, Benson gets his 9 games, then Savoie comes up and gets his 9 games. If other teams can game they LTIR system for the cap why can't we do it for this?

Devin Cooley and Dustin Tokarski are the fool proof backup if comrie or upl get snagged.

I think the off-season plan was to shed one of them by the end of camp.

- TheSabresTaco

Completely agree. For the Roch. I would consider Cooley a good AHL goalie.

As for tokarski. I will always think he’s the worst goalie I have ever watched

“Peyton Krebs is growing into his role as a defensive forward. We saw that evolution begin to take place last season, but he’s showing signs of embracing it fully this season. “

If that's what they see from him, I would use him as trade bait before the shine totally wears off.

If the Sabres are going to implement any kind of defensive system they might want to keep a couple of guys that can actually play defense…

Well what system are they putting in, cause they really haven't looked much different than last year, other than there forwards look like they might be a bit lower.

Don’t know what “system” they’re trying to implement and haven’t seen much of a change from last season. If they don’t play better team defense and limit shots and chances, Mr. Meatballs seat is going to get warm. Can’t go with pond hockey and hope Levi fixes everything.

Funny bringing up Pond hockey. I grew up down the road from the Ralph, and down Abbott across the Street from the Poked Yoke there's a couple business, Dunn Tire started over there. Well there's a Crick back there that we would skate on. Had some wild games back there.

Growing up on a farm, I actually thought this was a real word until I was a teenager. 😆
