My biggest concern is goaltending for the 3rd straight year.

No need for concern, Kane will solve this problem too.

I think there's merit to both sides of this argument. They called their defense as if Edmunds was some sort of alien, asking him to cover way too much of the field. Bernard is capitalizing on his opportunities, but he's also benefitting from the fact that the Bills are calling plays as if their linebackers are human.
- buffalofan19

How can you tell? Seams like its the same defense. Mostly Zone. Johnson always on the field. Blitz Milano sometimes.

I feel like they blitz more often so would leave Bernard more field to cover. Not trolling just would like to know how they are sheltering the linebackers?

my big issue is bottom 5 pk

they did not get anyone new up front for pk and johnson/clifton were usually on the second pair for their teams when they got pk time

Was it a big concern with Ullmark as the clear #1?

They got better goaltending with a league-worst record.

WR options are growing by the day:

š—§š—„š—˜š—”š——š—œš—”š—š: #Raiders star WR Davante Adams says he doesnā€™t have time to ā€œwait aroundā€ after the teamā€™s slow start to the seasonā€¦

ā€œI donā€™t got time to just wait aroundā€¦ itā€™s not my mentality to take all season to figure it out.ā€

Davante wants to win.

I would have liked to keep Ullmark, and you are right. But he never was really healthy with Buffalo.

Always get a laugh when you have to use a paper straw to drink from a plastic cup

Panthers switching to aluminum cups this season, among some other strategies to reduce waste generated at the arena. Nice to see, hopefully it catches on everywhere around the league.

https://www.nhl.com/panth...r-30th-anniversary-season

Also an improved A/C system to keep arena cooler as well as new ā€œstate of the artā€ zambonis, too. The ice quality should be top notch.
Canā€™t wait for the season to start

The Athletic:

ā€œBut if heā€™s going to play in the NHL this season, he needs to be able to make an impact at five-on-five. He still has work to do away from the puck. According to Natural Stat Trick, Kulich was on the ice for 12 shot attempts against and only two shot attempts for at five-on-five. He, Isak Rosen and Brandon Biro had a tough time generating offense at five-on-five. Neither Kulich nor Rosen got a shot on goal at five-on-five.ā€

21 1st round pick:

1OA - slam dunk in Owen Power 1 full NHL season under his belt

14OA - struggling to find a role in the Sabres roster, at best will be a 3rd linerā€¦.in a year or 2. 0 games played in the NHL

2022 1st round draft:

9OA - injured his shoulder that already has an injury history, missing camp. 0 games played in the NHL

16OA - needs so much development he is not even at training camp. 0 games played in the NHL

28OA - clone of a 7th round pick that is still on the team. 0 games played in the NHL

23ā€™ 1st round:

13OA - showing potential, his ability to control the puck and perimeter looks capable of translating to the NHL. He had Greenway shadowing him for protection which is smart but not a great sign IMO. 0 games played in the NHL, might get 9 out of his 1st camp which is great.

Kulich stats:
Rochester 22/23 - 62GP, 24G, 22A, -7
Playoffs 22/23 - 12GP, 7G, 4A, +1
NHL Preseason - 1GP, 0G, 0A, ?

Let's not freak out because of a single game sample size in the preseason. He's not VO, that's a lazy comparison based on the fact that he has a shot on the power play.

He's been compared to Olo since last season, to me, the way he was utilized yesterday made him look like a clone of Olo.

I would recommend watching his play in Rochester last year, especially in the playoffs. If Oloffson played like that we would all be fine. Drove play, had a great shot, was a major part of that team's run as a rookie and a young player in a league of veterans. He will get games in Buffalo this year.

I'll be down there in December, going to go to a few games.

Sabres here in December? Of all the games Iā€™ve been to over the years, I never went to see the Sabres*. Partly because the games never lined up where I could take my son (always a week night), partly because it still feels weird for me to root against the Sabres. I think I will have to make it to a Sabres visit this year, though. They were really fun to watch last year.

*I did go down to see Buffalo for the season finale a few years ago (RORā€™s last game as a Sabre) because Buffalo was way out of it and FL couldā€™ve made the playoffs with a win and a Flyers victory over the Rags (iirc) earlier that day. Flyers poop the bed though and by time puck dropped FL was eliminated (96 points and missed playoffs). Had a good time talking with the Sabres fan sitting next to us who had come over from the Tampa area.
I wish they were in different divisions, or they would at least switch back to conference 1-8 playoff matchups.

I don't know if the Sabres are, but I still go to Panther games when I'm down there.
