Key word can he's got enough offensive skill to contribute and I would trust him more than some of the others(Studnicka, Aman, Joshua). Looking at what the team has said(coach and GM) this doesn't surprise me. They said they needed more from the bottom six(this was a warning in advance to all the tweeners that you have to show something at camp). I think they aren't messing around this year if the players that are here don't do the job they will find an alternative. I think there is a lot of teams who have had disappointing training camps this year as you can see from the waiver wire and the NHL players going on waivers vs. the standard not good enough AHLers.

He's not moving the needle anymore than the Studnickas, Amans and Joshuas of the world. He's depth, and likely slots in rotation with the 4th line while spending time in the press box as the 13th forward. He's also insurance in case Blueger is injured for a significant period of time.

Thanks, you too. Everything’s good, hotter than hell this summer but we spent a bunch of time in San Diego, tuna fishing was awesome!! We’re not gonna spend another summer in AZ, just way too crazy hot. Looking forward to hockey starting.

Didn’t play good enough, plain and simple. Foerster and Brink played better. They don’t really want him as a bottom six guy so he’s not competing with the knuckleheads on the fourth line. He’s 25, time to show some offence, consistency and stay healthy.

I read Meltzer’s blog often, it’s nice to have some daily thoughts on training camp from him.
