They gutted the roster for tonight's game. A garbage bin full of call ups.

Agree making playoffs is exciting. I wish I had more hope that it will happen with this group, but I don't. I understand the stanley cup is unrealistic and made peace I likely won't see it in my lifetime. I'm not that old either, it's just the odds in a 32 team league. There also seems to be a choke factor when a Canadian team makes it far what with the hope of a whole country riding on them (see Toronto Blue Jays).

My beef is they've already set themselves up (and management disclaimed) that a couple injuries and they'll be in trouble. A few injuries will happen, they always do and we've seen this similar lineup play out the last several years. Adding a couple depth d-men and just sheer hope there's some bounceback or progression from guys not trending in right direction (Boeser, Myers, Podkolzin, Hoglander, etc) isn't good business to me. Understanding they were handicaped by the cap and past mistakes, I wish someone could get it through Aquilini's head (it's obviously not this management group) that this same approach won't work. The apathy is growing which will eventually impact your business. He seems to at least give the impression that he cares about this business $ wise, but maybe not.

Well if you are entrenched into rebuild then you can’t do that with Petey and QH on the roster. They won’t waist their top years waiting on that and would want out.

Usually when you have core players like that you add to them. Seems Canucks have traded for and drafted others to be developed.

It’s unusual for any management group to say let’s sell everyone and wait for 5 years to develop another Petey and QH plus some more core players.

I enjoyed them. That's all that matters.... and exposing how much of a butthurt dullard you are is just the cherry on top.

Yup, and Petey is seeing the exact same thing just from the inside.

Well Petey has plotted his path out imho. Hughes is kind of stuck and I get the impression he would put his head down and work rebuild or not. With his style, he can still be elite for his next contract when he can play wherever he wants.

I don't buy your Petey narrative at all. I am willing to bet Miller will trade demand his way out before him down the road.

It's ok... Canucks will give the Flames the flu and it will be timed for your first few games of the season. Half your roster will be sh!tting and puking at home opening night.

Stuck or not why rebuild with them on your roster it’s a waste.

My brother in law died suddenly last week. He was a massive Flames fan. We used to make bets on all the games and playoff series back when both teams were decent. I was in Calgary for the celebration of life this weekend and I wore my Canucks jersey to it. I figured he would appreciate it.
