Rotenberg sounds like the Russian version of Tortorella.

sounds like he'll have a real coach in Sochi. Any idea how many games they play?

how much money are you going to offer a billionaire?
- hello it's me 2050

It’s not really about the money, but rather, letting them think they won by having to pay for the kids services.

I’m not sure. But I don’t think they would view it that way.

Hey Bill. Thanks for the Bobby Collyard shoutout. A little before my time but he grew up 20 miles from where I did. I’ve heard a lot of stories about him and he was a great college player.

I'm wondering the same thing. If Michkov is supposed to be the next greatest player to come out of Russia since Ovechkin why are they messing with him this way?
- Dkos

Because they can and it's a different Russia then when Ovie left. Anyone that doesnt think Putin has say in this is naive. They killed his dad for speaking out think they are going to easily release him to play in the states. Not going to happen

What does the KHL seem to dislike MM so much?
What has happened that they are treating him this way?
This whole story just seems odd, especially for a kid as talented as he is....

- Bob Habib

His dad spoke out and then they found him.in a lake. Putin spite to show whose in charge

My guess is they’re trying to “break” him.

This is why I continue to tout that they should have drafted Leonard. He'll be in the NHL next year. Manufactured drama or not. Gonna be a pain in the ass to set things straight unless this kid just flat out defects and says good riddance to the ruskies!!

On another note, congrats to Booooooosh, but I sure hope that there will be very few games that Hartnell has to fill in for Boosh. My mute button will be getting a workout during those games cause he is brutal as a color guy.

even if he leaves, i'd imagine the NHL will abide by the rules or stance of the IIHF.

and yes, boosh is good.

Someone on the other thread asked which young guys you will have the most interest in heading to camp. I say Foerster and Andrae are the two I am most interested in. I'm hoping Andrae can be a somewhat scaled down version of Kimmo! Perhaps that's a big ask, but he seems like a similar type player to Kimmo.

playing a full season over there, we will see how the kid does. looking at the stats from last season, Jordan Weal was in the top 30 for points.

Mikhail Grigorenko top 20, Radulov was in top 3.

hoping in a full season he will be in top 20.

Vorobyov at 53. some interesting names on the list when you look.

i think tyson makes the team out of camp. Andrae is a fixture by the TDL. (unless DB pulls a fletcher and doesn't trade anyone.)

other call ups: Brink, Elliot, Grans, lyksell

interested in what wisdom, attard, samu and ginning do this year.

If he is even half the player that kimmo was then that is a hell of a draft pick! I can't believe how big and solid this kid is at his age. He is only going to put on more weight and mass as he grows.
For a Lil dude he is built like a cigarette machine, as biz says

They are messing with Khusnutdinov a Wild prospect too. Khusnutdinov has the 4th highest point total for an 18 y/o in the KHL ever and as a 20 y/o broke the assist record set by Kaprizov and Kuznetzov. Now St. Pete’s isn’t giving him the ice time.

It’s frustrating. But teams draft these guys because they envision that the payoff will greatly offset the distractions along the way.

It’s a process. He’s only 18. The KHL isn’t interested in being a development league for the NHL. They have tunnel vision for their own interests.
