As per TSN , Leafs are planning to extend Nylander.....I guess prelims are over.

With nearly every Nylander roomer, I repeated that the Leafs will keep him. They have all year to work out an extension, and if they can't agree, then the Leafs simply use him as a rental, make a run at the Cup, then let him walk as a UFA and gain $6.9M of cap space. Some of that might be used to extend guys like Bertuzzi, Domi, Klingberg, or address other needs via UFA. But there is no logical reason why they feel rushed to move him right now. The window to win a Cup is now. He's a top winger making a reasonable $6.9M.

Sounds like Nylanders had a lot of roomers…

Flames and Leafs In Preliminary Talks on Blockbuster?

Sorry for the delayed post today…been chasing this one… What I do know is talks started a few weeks ago, but until today there were no names associated with what was being called “Norma fact finding.”

The Leafs like Hanifin and Mangiapane. The Flames love Knies, Nylander, Liljegren and a few prospects…. Those are the names I’ve heard. Chances are we aren’t talking about all those names, but some combination.

Why would the Flames and Leafs want to buy Blockbuster? There’s only one left worldwide. Bad investment.
