Flames and Leafs In Preliminary Talks on Blockbuster? Sorry for the delayed post today…been chasing this one… What I do know is talks started a few weeks ago, but until today there were no names associated with what was being called “Norma fact finding.”

The Leafs like Hanifin and Mangiapane. The Flames love Knies, Nylander, Liljegren and a few prospects…. Those are the names I’ve heard. Chances are we aren’t talking about all those names, but some combination.

Would love to see Nylander on the Flames, but the Flames don't have the pieces to do it. Maybe the Leafs would be interested if it was Hanifin and Mangiapane with the Flames retaining 50% of Mangiapane's contract, but Treliving has watched every game Hanifin and Magiapane have played. Do you really think he'd give up Nylander for that? The Flames also can't be trading away picks and prospects until they know last year was an aberration.

Gilmour for Bullard how sweet was that for the Flames. There was a 14 yo babysitter accusation that seemed to expedite his departure.

Ownership wants to win this season. Trading Lindholm now for Nylander doesn't make sense since it makes the team worse. Lindholm's only getting traded if they're bad or (hopefully) mediocre at the deadline.

Trading Hanifin is the only move that makes sense since they already have 6 top 4 defencemen.
