krebs is a playmaker not a scorer

if you put him between a healthy skinner and quinn, he would thrive just as cozens or casey IMO

He should utilize that PP time if he gets any next year... instead of wasting the opportunity.

It was his 1st full year, even Quinn and JJ had more AHL games played than Krebs did total.
- Buff36

That's fine, but his play did land him on the 4th line and the opportunity was always there to play his way back up. He's going to face more competition now.

Are playoffs expected each season?

Are you thinking that bottom six is worse than what they plan to trott out there this season?

Agreed, I actually hope with his new found 200ft game that he might be a decent C for Olofsson. Olofsson was at his best with a C who was a decent 200ft player (Eichel). Not to say Krebs is anywhere near Eichel's talent, but Krebs was always known for his playmaking. Maybe they mesh with Krebs passing and Olofsson's shot. And Krebs can help with Olofsson's deficiencies at D a bit.

his coach lets teams score 7 or 10 goals on them though

donnie is average at best but we place him higher based on longevity

Asking Krebs to carry VO is a fireable offense. He had defensive struggles of his own.

Krebs had a top 6 opportunity staring him in the face last year. He played himself down in the lineup.
- Lunaion

Can say the same for Alex Newhook.

I still have faith in Krebs, although times ticking

Going into the 23/24 season and on, for the Sabres, who brings more value:

Alex Romanov or Noah Ostlund?

Alex Newhook who played 2/3C in Colorado and won a Stanley Cup, traded after 3 seasons to improve the Avalanche

Kirby Dach, a 1C who was moved after 3 seasons of a failed rebuild in Chicago and it was a a lopsided hockey trade

Alex Romanov top4 defenseman, traded in a lopsided hockey trade

All these player have top line and playoff experience...these are the comps for Peyton Krebs, the 4C for the Buffalo Sabres for 1 season?

These are trades where up and coming teams paid a premium for the players and the GM's saw the value add for their respective rosters and moved on from the individual potential to improve the team

- washedup20

None of the aforementioned have come close to living up to their hype, that was my point.

Yet they were dealt for pretty good value.

Newhook could be a very good comparable though for Krebs depending on how Peyton’s year plays out this year

I’m thinking 24’ 25’ infuses 5 rookies onto a roster that made the playoffs? To me that requires growth and an adjustment period.

Plus who replaces Johnson on D so maybe 6 rookies.

Sure, can see the potential.

I just hate that a 3C opportunity likely comes with VO. It's gross.

Ask me again in 12 months - another NHL player who needs another season to learn who he is, while also switching to the mentality it’s time to win.

Be Nice, where is he in the lineup though before Quinn gets back ? And if he is on Cozens Wing who is at that spot at 3LW and are they having a good year. Could make Olofsson valuable at the TDL

Yup.
You have read my posts in this regarding the same over the past several days.

Not very forward thinking with bringing both Girgs and Okposo along with Jost back. They could have inserted Rousek in one of those spots on L4 and Kulich up on L3

Best coach we have had in a decade. By a mile

Develops young players into good hockey players

Resurrected Tage into a top 10 center, skinner back to a 1st line winger and fat boy into a 50pt player. Oh yea dahlin looks pretty good under donnie.

Yea but 82 points i guess.

This f*cking site sucks! I dont know if its just the no blogs so no new convos gets started or the 4 month troll job washedup is on.

We just had the prospect tourney with a game still tonight but we still on how our gm sucks.

It’s still early for the new blogger, let’s see what happens this season before jumping to conclusions.

Hand picked by Ek, there is a lot of potential. Why are you blaming the site, patience.

Peyton Krebs supporters have a common case of prospects brain.

He was a 1st rounder therefore he has to be really good on offense and has a ton of upside

Sometimes it’s just not there

- sbroads24

I think he could be a pretty good spark plug type bottom 6 C. Does that qualify as prospect brain?
