Krebs is only 22, he might not turn out more to be than a 3rd line player. But the Kid lost half a season of development when he tore his Achilles just before the draft. His development path with Vegas and when he got here was wacky. With learning the defensive side last year, maybe with his passing and D game maybe him and Olofsson can gain some chemistry. Maybe
Greenway Krebs Olofsson as a 3rd line can gain some decent play. Got the banger and net front with Greenway and the Passing and 200ft game of Krebs and the shooter Olofsson. Hopefully Greenway and Krebs can cover for Olofsson's D deficiencies.

Mitts + VO + X, this time it'll work!

VO has a lot to fight for in a contract year. Curious to see which version we get. He usually thrives in early season hockey, with less contact and plenty of space on the PP.

- Lunaion

I think the staff made it pretty clear they need more hustle and compete if he's going to stay in the lineup. We'll see how VO responds

The NHL player list has this nhl season to sort itself out.

I can easily see them moving on from greenway olofson okposo girgensons joker.

Upl / Krebs / mitts. Need to see how the year goes.

AHL wise:

Kulich and Johnson will most likely be your injury call ups

Juniors players: wait and see what opens up next offseason

So again. No rush at all. Still a lot of unknown

Don't think many are talking about this year. Sabres have enough coming up they could make a whole bottom 6 next year without those players and still have 5 more coming soon after that.

Do the Sabres,

- Fill their bottom six with 1st round players who can't beat out the existing top 6? Does that build a well rounded roster?

- Move on from existing top 6 players and let the youth fill the spots? What are you trading the existing top 6 player for?

- Hold players and leverage RFA status while preaching how they want to be there?

You believed in Mitts, dislike Krebs, yet they are a carbon copy of one another if you look at their first few years in the league
- Swedish_Jesus

I saw more raw talent in Mitts.

For one, Mitts has an actual good shot (he refuses to use it) and while being a good playmaker, he needed to have the game slow down for him which it finally did.

Krebs doesn't have the same issues Mitts did. Krebs is just less talented. And I think it's by a decent margin

- Fill their bottom six with 1st round players who can't beat out the existing top 6? Does that build a well rounded roster? their bottom 6 will be a mix of drafted and outside players within the next 2-3 years. They have both top and bottom 6 prospects that can eventually jump in those spots.

- Move on from existing top 6 players and let the youth fill the spots? What are you trading the existing top 6 player for? If Quinn and Peterka can float in the middle 6, and Cozens Thompson Tuch and Skinner are concrete, there's still some room in the middle 6 for a guy or two in the next 12 months. Mittelstadt has questions to answer regarding his longevity. So does Krebs.

- Hold players and leverage RFA status while preaching how they want to be there? They won't bar guys from the NHL when they're ready to be here. I guarantee it. They'll be on this team or somewhere else.

not long ago we were begging for guys like mittelstadt, guhle and fasching to play in buffalo because our depth was non existent. now we're at the point where we no longer need to force these guys to play up here and i can't help to notice people are upset about it.

Hopefully 33-50% (Casey, Krebs, Jost). In reality 66-83%

I think the argument here is that they should be traded before it's clear they can't make it onto the bottom 6 of an NHL roster that hasn't made the playoffs in 15 seasons, when they still hold some estimated value.
- JCSabs06

Who is available that justifies the return of one or more of those prospects ?

Well there's a lot of 1st rounders in the top 6 already. So if 9 out of 12 spots are filled with 1st rounders so be it.

Krebs has this year to make his mark, or else he can very well find himself on the outside looking in.

Whether it’s in Buffalo or somewhere else, he will have a good NHL career.

Hellye
Pesce

Idk I'm not a tapped in GM - but I imagine that there are some players who aren't necessarily marketed as "available" but if they got an offer of Savoie + or Rosen + or Ostlund + or Kulich + they might be pried away.

no idea how you're inferring that.

Do you not like the idea of mixing in low cost prospects with veteran talent in the bottom 6?
