He's not that kind of player, if you have that expectation.

Kulich was pretty good on the Dot, is he the New 3C of the future. Benson looked like a dog out there, Savoie showing of the hands and Jets. Rosen looked good, Kisakov made himself noticeable. So much talent coming. Jesus even if the Sabres hit on a Quarter of all these prospects they can build a Power House if done right.

By next season, all of the following should be in the NHL (some are already), as they'll be ready:

Quinn, Peterka, Rosen, Kulich, Benson, Savoie

The Sabres will still have at least Tuch and Skinner on the roster, and possibly Mittelstadt and Krebs.

My main question: Where the hell are all of them going to play?

Skinner Tage Tuch
Peterka Cozens Quinn
Benson Kulich Savoie
Rosen on the 4th line...?

Judging by what I see. When your cupboards are overstocked you end up throwing things out for nothing. I think the Sabres are getting close to that scenario. They can't and won't all play in the NHL so it's time for KA to do his job and figure out who's in the plans. The rest are trade bait for a goalie and couple good experience talented forwards not named Okposlow or Skinner

As much as I also want a trade. Why rush?

This isn’t a video game or fantasy sports.

Also, Adams has taken risks before and it’s worked out.

So stop crying and get over it. Do you still pine for an ex of yours from 10 years ago?

You gotta move on

I couldn't get a similar thought out of my head watching the game last night. Rosen is a D+3 #14 pick without a real path to make this team. What are they doing?

A Mitts-Jost-VO, Girgs-Krebs-Okposo bottom 6 opening night is possible. How is an organization that is so unwilling to make change going to handle all these kids?

They have willingly sat Olofsson and Jost several times.

If Rosen is good enough, he’ll be on the roster.

If he isn’t, they hedged themselves with the aforementioned.

I don’t see an issue with a contingency plan.

The contingency plan is playing a guy they benched in the most important portion of the year and actively shopped but couldn't move?

Great

Also if olofsson sits which he won't early, its a waste of 4.75 again

Nice

The Sabres have the third most cap space in the league at the moment.

Olofsson’s contract doesn’t prohibit them from doing anything, and if he weren’t on the roster altogether, we’d still be having a conversation about how the forward corps would round out.

Rosen is a weakling...he needs to build mass. While true he is D+3, but his body was that of a 14 yo before last season, and now maybe a 17 yo equivalent. He needs additional physical maturity...Hopefully he moves it to say a 20/21 yo this season.

Your 2nd point is right smack damn on. I have been harping that next season, it is not unreasonable to anticipate the roster ushering in 4, 5, 6(?) current prospects from among Benson, Savoie, Kulich, R Johnson, Rousek, Rosen .. pushing out from among Okposo, Girgs, Jost, Olofson Krebs(?), Mitts(?), E Johnson, Jokiharju

I for one want to see 4 lines reimagined into high tempo, fast, skilled lines that force competitors into bad matchups in the bottom 6 rather than 4th line bangers

Jost had good metrics last year, I really don’t see an issue with bringing back the player. If someone beats him out, that is great. If they don’t, you have someone you can count on in your bottom 6.

I’m sure everyone, including Olofsson, probably wishes he wasn’t here right now. But at the moment he is, and that doesn’t mean he will play over someone.

The smarter plan would be to replace Quinn with Kulich and let him take the next step in development, then push him down to 3rd line when Quinn comes back for the balance of the year.
IMO of course.

Imagine they sneak into the playoffs this year. Can you see them turning over the roster like that?

Just another case where the individual decisions make some sense, but combined, they don't.

"We won't block our prospects" ... right up there with "I have never talked to my son about his business dealings" lol.

There is admittedly exactly zero evidence that Adams will do so. It is why I just do not understand why: they have 25 players on the roster, make the statement above, and especially resigned Girgs and Okposo so early.
