Apologies if this has been posted but I didn't backread.

So they're going to allow Wright to play in the AHL just because?

How about Savoie?

OK, it's fantastic he is getting the core locked up. We hope the team improves and internally grows, cause that's what there Banking on. We still don't know if we have a top 4 RD, are goaltending is a ? mark. We hope Levi is the man, but there putting alot on his shoulders. Sorry not trying to be a jerk, but there the same Questions we had 2-3yrs ago.

Goaltending is a question mark for 75% of the league.

Outside of Tampa and Boston, the rest of the Atlantic have goaltending questions.

Florida: Which Bob is going to show up ? The goalie who did the best Hasek impression for a couple months or the guy who couldn’t stop a beachball ?

Toronto: Was Samsonov’s year last year a flash in the pan ? Or is he a legitimate starting goaltender ?

Detroit: Husso was just as bad as UPL and Comrie last year. Alex Lyon doesn’t have a large sample size.

Montreal: Goaltending should be half decent but their roster stinks so shouldn’t be an issue.

Ottawa: Korpisalo had a good year last year, was brutal for the majority of the time in Columbus. Forsberg has looked good but small sample size.

I thought the same thing.

Would be BS if they can’t get Savoie in the AHL if Wright goes.

They are both in the same situation

I don't care about the rest of the League, I care about the Sabres and there Goaltending has been a ? Mark since Adams took over.

I saw afterwords that it’s 4 seasons accrued of 25+ games.

Apparently Benson will be in the same boat next year if he doesn’t make the team as one of his seasons had 24 games played.

The fact Savoie missed the AHL cutoff by being born a day late though should warrant an attempt at an exception for him too though.

Savoie has 3 seasons accrued, although played a full season in the USHL due to Covid.

One of the WHL seasons though had 17 games.

Best case for his exception would be being so close to the age cutoff

Chl rule is stupid. They talk about so many good players going to USA colleges. I wonder if that chl rule has any factor. Hockey parents think their kids are the greatest and probably think about it.

It’s frustrating to say the least, but considering the position is mostly dependent on team defence (unless you have one of the few goalies who matter) it’s tough to criticize too harshly.

Levi has the potential to be an elite goalie, which is more then what half the league could say about their situations

I mean Power, Fantilli, and now Celebrini (projected 1st OA pick this year) have all gone the USHL- College route.

Levi has the potential to be no better than UPL. I don’t like all the eggs in that basket. And I really like that basket.

Savoie played 22 games during his initial season in the WHL.

Wright played 20 games last season in the OHL.

Why does Wright deserve any special consideration over Savoie, or others?

As you said, Benson will be in the same situation next season with missing the games played cutoff of 25 by one (he played in 24 games).

I was referring to Canadian born guys avoiding the CHL but to your point a lot of elite talent is coming out of the USHL/NTDP and going college route absolutely

I’m thinking what hurts Savoie is the full season he played at Dubuque.

Nonetheless, he would have hit the 25+ games mark in that season if the WHL didn’t shut down

Well there's another question mark isn't it Defense, that's just another example.

I'm curious where the confidence is coming from that the Sabres are going to play a tighter, more defensive style of play.
