Both are players coaches that players like playing for.

Both are also aggressive.

Both the Lions and Sabres have been in inept for the last decade (difference being the Lions had a token one and done playoff appearance that the Sabres didn’t).

Both scored at will last year but missed the playoffs because they couldn’t defend to save their lives.

Both brought in management teams that prioritized drafting and analytics.

The results of the Lions draft classes are showing out more quickly due to the nature of the league, the Sabres’ are arriving and will continue to do so.

Last years team had no issues at all with scoring and playing chippy. They threw the least amount of checks in the NHL

no way in hell do I trade UPL now. Commie sure but not UPL. I have been vocal saying UPL has sucked his whole entire time with Buffalo, however I am not ready to give up on him just yet. I want to see what he can do with a competent Defense first (assuming our D will play better in front of him now).
If he is stinking up the joint this year, sure launch him to the moon for all I care.

I think a lot of people still have the 80's- early 90's sense of Physical still on the mind. the days of thunderous checks and running around hitting everything is gone.

IMO playing physical just means playing the game right. ALWAYS finish your checks, everyone should be doing that. You create doubt in the opposing D-mans mind when he knows every single time he is going back to play the puck that a forward is going to hit him, it don't have to be a hard check just constant contact.

Levi shouldn’t touch 55 gp and neither will those stats touch those levels if he does. I say 45 at most and I highly doubt she sniffs 30 wins. I’m going 2.85, .905 and 25-15-5 at best.

We will need one of UPL and Comrie to step up. I think Levi struggles in October and sees a few games from the press box, even. Comrie will step up in November and get hurt by the New Year. Then UPL and Levi split, with UPL getting the wins but not improving in the stat sheet, while Levi slowly comes into form as the season progresses.

Comrie will help us down the stretch. If anyone gets traded at the TDL, I’m going with UPL to somewhere like Nashville.

I dont think he should be slated to play 50+ but its a likely scenario because we have no other option for a chance at success
