I don't anybody who knows what's going on really think the Pegulas are cheap. The difference between the Bills and the Sabres is that the Bills operate in a league that mandates its owners simply write checks and let the adults do their jobs (unless you're Jerry Jones). The NHL has no such mandate. It lets owners like Pegula treat the franchise like a toy, and the result is the same as when you let a toddler throw things around long enough.

"An unspoken aspect of this series of business moves is how decisively Terry Pegula and Roth have come to the conclusion Kim Pegula’s biggest business ideas have proven unviable. Unable to work after a debilitating cardiac arrest last year, her creations and closest allies continue to vanish from the company."

Pegulas turned the Bill's around pretty quickly, I'm confident they turn the Sabres around.

Some posters including jcrags think the pegulas are cheap and base every move around money.

I do not feel that way, as were near the cap with the Sabres contacts ..... this season.....

They're neither cheap nor philanthropic. Obv the Sabres aren't a cap floor team anymore, while they were, they didn't do everything they could to make the team better for the future. I still hold Pegs liable for not letting Adams acquire cap dumps for draft picks. There was no reason for our billionaire owner not to do that. I don't buy that Adams didn't want to make those kind of trades.

the bills are blessed with decent football minds

the sabres have gone with 3 gm's that had no experience as being former nhl gms
2 rookie head coaches and a guy who left the league after being fired after 1 year and ran a soccer franchise for 5 years before coming back to coach the nhl

that's the thing about football

find your qb and you are set

sign a few bad apples, and you can get them off your roster as the contracts are not fully guaranteed

in the nhl if you have to overpay to get guys here, you are screwed in a cap era and stuck with them on their later years when they are over the hill

Bashing the GM for the last year daily has killed this blog.

You bring up a convo on something positive you just get trolled by all the nancys.

Roma comes on once in the blue moon and trolls hard and gets banned. Clown says ban him papa stripes listens.

Washedup has been trolling for months but clown agrees with him so no crying to papa stripes so trolling continues.

But papa stripes told me we cant control the posts in here so if he agrees with you, troll away.

Some owners just want to avoid cap dump shenanigans.

I'm sure top 3 gm was ready too.

where does that belong in society, let alone a hockey chat room

I will wait for your answer

Fortune favors the bold and if a cap dump scares them, we're in trouble with the new president in town.

I like the top3 GM tag though, that'll curl some toes.

Not for Quinn:

If your Achilles tendon tears, you may hear a snapping or popping noise when it happens. You could have bruising and swelling, too. You also may have trouble pointing your toes and pushing off your toes when you take a step.

Really? Could've fooled me. Only ahead of Chicago because of Kane and Toews' expiring deals and not re-signing either of them.

Younger teams tend to not spend to the ceiling due to elc's, bridge deals, + No bonafide #1 goalie. Comrie makes the most at 1.8mil.

Adding a goalie at 4 mil puts em right up near NJ.

Plenty of bad teams up near the top.

The imaginary $10.5mm deal for Dahlin is all cash allowing Terry to keep the payroll low on paper.

And I bet the new TV Deal in the NFL covered every expense this year for Pegula. I mean he just got a check for 425 million from the NFL for part of his share of the deal. Over the next decade Pegula will receive 2.39Billion from his share.
Edit: Sorry I was of a Billion and half Pegula will be getting 3.9 Billion over the next decade. Pegula is gonna get a check for like 300mill a year from the NFL for the Next decade.

Easy to be #1 in spending in the NFL when your own League is flipping the Bill.

Sure, it's easy spending more to bring a championship to our city, then other billionaire owners with the same resources and league benefits.

Damned if they do

Damned if they don't

Good post

Its basically a story about a north buffalo kid growing up near Franks sunny italy on Delaware.

Local kid turns into a big shot ny guy

Turns back on his city and the other local guy Kyvny Adams.

Guy drinks a half dozen double jack and cokes at a sitting

Cries over and over how life isnt fair as a Sabres fan

All his ny buddies think he's homer #1 with the Sabres and Bill's, but instead, he cries about his own teams daily.

Would you view Adam's performance as GM differently if he wasn't from Buffalo?

I'm with you, there's been some inexcusable hires, they/he lacks something when hiring.

Maybe he just buys the bs at the interview? Lacking some human resource skills...
