Agreed, let's waive LOG and score more.

Well 2 out of 3 Larry's, depends on who is the 3rd one.

Why if they put in a structured D scheme do they drop to 15th. If played right and with the Sabres speed and breakouts. It could actually create more offense.
- Buff36

The bold almost never is the case.

It's not a thing.

The much more likely result, if they employ a more defensive structure, is the offense suffers.

How much it suffers is the question.

Sure coach 36

You make it seem easy.

If your playing a defensive structure, its gonna hurt the #3 offense in the league.

Otherwise we would have already

The world would be a better place if we just stopped interviewing hockey players - they all say the exact same meaningless crap every day. The only reason journalists still do it is because journalists are lazy. It’s much easier to regurgitate three minutes of a player telling us they need to get pucks in deep and take it one shift at a time while giving 110%, than to sit down and write some actual analysis of the game.

look at the panthers

340 goals
top of the mountain

added a defensive structure, and struggled for the first half of the year
ended up with 290 goals and probably a better overall team now but the offense took a big hit

Offense might hurt from 5 players not having Career years. And No it's not easy, and it will affect the Offense. But you also have the chance to have the puck more because of turnovers which can create more Offense. Just because they put a system in doesn't mean there Offense will suffer as much as you posted

The offense will suffer some, I guess what would really indicate success/failure would be the effect on the team’s goal differential.
Hypothetically, Would it be worthwhile going from 3rd scoring offense/9th place in conference to 10th scoring offense/5th place in conference?

So putting pressure on teams and causing Turnovers can't create offense ?

FL went as far in playoffs as they did in large part because they feasted on creating turnovers and quickly burying the puck in the opponent’s net. While their goalie went from a “flop” to a conn smythe candidate due to the team in front of him playing more defensively aware.

Yeah, I agree. Loved watching Florida when they are dogs on the puck, tough team to Beat when they are.

Playing a more defensive style is not going to create more offense and it will not result in more goals being scored.

Doesn't mean it isn't the right idea, as Rat alluded to with the differential being the key.

Offense might hurt from 5 players not having career years either way.

You're adding an intangible, which has nothing to do with the orginal point - a different defensive structure will cut back on offense

I love the #3 offensive structure in the league.

In one breath you want to fire okposo and girgensons, then implement defense the next breath

The Patrick Kane being a good fit. While Zegras doesn’t have a place on this roster might be the stupidest argument I’ve heard about the Buffalo Sabres.

Never said it would result in more goals, never said it wouldn't effect the Offense. Did say a good D system can create Offense, which it can.
Are Offense might take a dip Naturally, just think a good 200ft D System where all 5 players buy in can do both help Defensively and can create Offense off of it to.

I never said it wouldn't Boss, I said just because they do doesn't mean it will drop to 15, like You said.
And I can still put a Good D structure in with probably better offensive output without those 2 Old Men.

Is this streamed anywhere?

Edit: as per the Sabres Twitter it is not. Shame. I don't even need an announcing team, just a guy working the cameras. Hell I'll do it, just let me in

Zegras just has no defense but honestly you teach him defense. For the offense he gives you it's worth it. It won't happen so I'm not going to lose sleep over it but I would take him in a heartbeat
