You don't pound the table for a bottom 6 forward.

I believe their hopes for him are to add offense and clear space for guys like Cozens, Mitts, Quinn etc.

If this is a make or break year for Mitts, what are the expectations for him?

75 GP
60+ points
+ player
50 pims

More importantly, players like Mitts need to solidify a role. Tage, Skinner, Tuch, and Cozens have solidified their roles.

What role is open for him, who is his direct competition and what are you looking for from him to be considered a core player?

- washedup20

Make or break for what? He's shown he can be a 60+ pt player. Shown he is responsible in his own end.

Once he was away from the boat anchor last year he took off.

Are you ready to sign him to extension then? What role do you see him playing?

Decent odds on Mitts + Anchor + X opening night. Traditions are important.

IMO the odds of Casey being traded are about equal to him being in top-15 Selke voting. Neither would surprise me. When I see him engaged on the ice, and he gets that fire in his (soft) belly, he has potential to be unstoppable.

I remember people being more mad we didn't take Caufield. Cozens was such a force in that Hlinka tourney, I was surprised more people didn't recognize the skill he had.

Krebs - Mitts - Quinn could be fun when the kid is back. Not a great sample size, but that line did well when together last year.

It is refreshing that Granato isn't pretending that Levi will be anywhere other than Buffalo this year

I'd give him a fair contract. Don't ask me what that looks like though.

He can play anywhere in the top 9. Like someone said here, Versatile utility player, with elite playmaking ability(I added that part). Guys got a shot that could net him 20 goals if he wanted.

5x5 ? 6x5? Im no good with #'s

I think he only excels in a top 6 role, if Adams believes in him he should throw low $ with long term.

If his play remains inconsistent, next season he becomes an expensive version of skill that the prospect pool is full of.

If those were full Olympic rosters, I think you'd see a different feeling about it. But I agree, looked like the kid needed rest, as soon as he hit the ice for Germany he was on a different level.

I think he only excelled n that top 6 role given his linemates when on line "3".

with the talent coming through he should be able to produce like he did in the top 6 on line 3 at least in the future.

Savoie-Mitts-Benson

Rosen-Mitts-Kulich

etc.

Should have 3 solid lines in the next couple years.

Arent those world teams always short of talent given it plays out during playoffs?

He holds the record for his country that hadn't been beaten since like 1950's. And Drais had played in that tourney a couple years back. I think about the same age as JJ

Talent on those combo's is there, they would get tossed around like rag dolls.

If he loses ice time and PP time to prospects, stands to reason his production will drop.

He's a very tough contract. Tweener 2nd/3rd line and C/LW. A strong year might price him out of Buffalo. A bad year might force him out of Buffalo.

Didn't used to be, but yeah that's the way now.

Looks like Drai was ppg or better for the last couple, some of that may simply come down to linemates. Germany doesn't necessarily put great teams together, this years' may have been better, I really don't know.
