dahlin-clifton is mildly interesting.

A lot of the pairs, pretty much all the pairs on F and D are potential in-season pairs.

gonna pay close attention to greenway-jost-olofsson. maybe he won't tie cement blocks to everyone's feet this year.

- TheSabresTaco

That's a interesting line, wouldn't mind seeing Krebs there actually.

Christian Kirksey retired from the NFL after nine seasons.
Kirksey joined the Bills less than a month ago after the Texans released him at the end of training camp. The veteran linebacker was a third-round pick of the Browns back in 2014 and appeared in 114 games during his career, totaling 778 tackles and 16.5 sacks while forcing 13 turnovers. Kirksey served as one of the Texans’ team captains last season, but didn’t appear in a game for the Bills this seaso

"Our goal this year is to scrap our plan of building from within, which I have been publicly saying we are going to do for 3 years now, and mortgage part of our future so that an insecure portion of fans can rejoice that we made it to the playoffs with a bunch of high-priced trade and free-agent signings, just like we tried to do after drafting Jack Eichel, but we will ultimately get bounced in round one and never have the depth it takes to go further due to the short-sighted nature of what some fans want to do" is what many want to hear. Not me.

Adams believes goalie is position of strength, interesting.

He believes paying a premium in the market or cost acquisition to add experience doesn’t put you in a better spot.

My thinks goes to:

Take a gander at the last decade + of Stanley cup winners and see if they ever paid premiums to fill roster voids with experience and were more successful doing so….

Here’s the thing about this every time a player is brought up. There are many on here who say well the Sabres don’t need that. They already have a good roster in place. Yet then you all talk out of the different sides of Your mouth saying well This team isnt a cup contender.

So, which is it? The team is too good and is ready to compete for a cup and doesn’t need upgrades or the team is not a cup contender yet and could use a big swing to get much needed talent in here?

- ImThatGuy

Duchene wanting to go to a cup contender is from his mouth during the off season.

He gave like 3-5 teams he was considering.

This team is not a cup contender with 2 rookie goalies.

Playoff contender for sure.

Dallas just nearly made it to the final. If their goltending was better (he was 24) they may of made it.

Duchene wanted the best possible place to go for the chnace to win a cup, IMO he picked right.

A 2nd line of Cozens and Zegras, with both being able to play Center and Wing, would set the team's top 6 up for a long time.
- kingcong39

Zegras is a winger not a center. Guy has no responsibility in his own end.

Great offensive talent

I love how any trade is mortgaging the future when guys like Petry and DeSmith were traded for peanuts.
- ImThatGuy

Petry is 35 years old and makes over 4m. De Smith is De Stink. Why do you suppose they only fetched peanuts?

How many of them were the youngest team in the league and missed the playoffs in the year before they won the Cup?

“The Ducks are being choosy

- ImThatGuy[with Zegras]? They want to break it? I heard there's a team looking that way and it's the Buffalo Sabres. The Sabers have to make the playoffs this year and you solve your problem by bringing Zegras,” the journalist told JiC.

All the retention done on Petry, he would have been a better get than Johnson. Guy is still a decent player.

adams insinuated that he's trying to get the extensions done before the season starts.

as much as he hates timelines and pressure, and boy does he hate them, he couldn't beat far enough around the bush that he wants them done before the start of the season.

espo and his gm would get the contract worked out over a beer

Well he might not be very good at it, he took like 600 faceoffs last year. So I would say he does both.

hard to say how they jumble Jost and Krebs this year. My guess is that Krebs is almost full time on the 4th line, because Jost seemingly has better results making vacuums like Olofsson play better. Jost not being a full time player last year was a bit curious.

I think they want Casey in the top 6 full time, and they should.

Just wonder if they swap Krebs and Jost throughout the year.

Jeff Skinner takes faceoffs, and is pretty darn good, Doesn't make him a center.

He is actually better than Trevor is at it.

Trevor takes faceoffs on a team that has no real centers. Until Mactavish and Carlsson are there full time.

Put him with a real center and he'd be better used as a winger.
