We're closing in on a SERIOUS goalie THIS weekend.
- TheSabresTaco

My sauce confirmed Levi stepped in at the last minute demanding Adams get back on his boat and off the phone.

I am all for trading for Zegras in that scenario. But he doesn't play RD and isn't a goalie so our strongest area of depth (center) would definitely improve but our 2 biggest weaknesses/ question marks are still there. In a vacuum, that trade would move the needle, for sure. But then there's 3 less bargaining chips to help those other needs.
- LandlordTom

Do you think any of the Sabres prospects alone are more valuable than an unprotected 24' 1st round pick?

A 2nd line of Cozens and Zegras, with both being able to play Center and Wing, would set the team's top 6 up for a long time.

I'd rather use quality trade pieces on a guy like Rasmus Andersson tbh.
- TheSabresTaco

They are both unlikely, but I believe Andersson is the more unlikely of the 2 to get moved.

You are very bad at this

Like JFC, this is off the top of the head sh¡t

Yep, and all of those players are franchise 1C’s and their teams are Stanley Cup Contenders because of it…..

Like I said in my original post, Chicago added the best player this offseason in Connor Bedard that increases their probability of winning a Stanley Cup one day thanks to bottoming out.

Vegas won the cup, Chicago got a player who might be top 3 in the league in the prime of his career.

New Jersey isn’t winning poop without Hughes/Hischier. But since they have them, they are a cup contender and have a legitimate chance.

Toronto hasn’t won poop yet, but without Matthews, they will be guaranteed to never win poop.

Edmonton has a McDavid and a Draisatil, so they have a chance.

Sabres have Tage and Cozens, on quality deals for both, so what are they waiting for?

It would definitely be fun, Zegras would hopefully clean up those turnovers. But he really hasn't played with the talent he would be here. And isn't that why Clifton and Johnson were brought in to help are D core. IMO it will be more on Coaching and what system they implement on Defense that helps more than anything at this point.

Tage, Skinner, Tuch followed by Cozens, Zegras, Quinn would be a top level, high impact top 6.

Sabres could really roll 4 lines of Speed, Offense, Forecheck at teams. Cause a lot of pressure on the other team and let them worry about lines and match ups.

Are they waiting ?

They have been rumoured to be acquiring anyone with a pulse this offseason.

Only thing they are waiting on is one of the best prospect pipelines in the league to continue to progress and earn some of this roster spots.

You know it, I know it, and Adams knows that there are too many cooks in the kitchen and he will have to make a hockey trade here at some point

"Nobody want to come here"

He didnt want to go to 95% of teams. CAUSE HE WANTS THE CHNACE TO WIN A CUP

bolded, italicized, underlined cause I don't think you got that part the 12 other times ive posted it

Here’s the thing about this every time a player is brought up. There are many on here who say well the Sabres don’t need that. They already have a good roster in place. Yet then you all talk out of the different sides of Your mouth saying well This team isnt a cup contender.

So, which is it? The team is too good and is ready to compete for a cup and doesn’t need upgrades or the team is not a cup contender yet and could use a big swing to get much needed talent in here?

He's the face of that team right now until Carlsson becomes The Guy, it's a head scratcher for sure. I would wonder what return he would garner, it would be substantial, but you have to give to get...he's a big get.

Only thing I worry about is his character. Kid can be a real asshat sometimes.

Training camp begins…year 4 of the wannabe bald guy show.

After rebuilding the past 3 seasons, 2 of the 4 first picks in the 1st round begin camp on injured reserve. The roster is projected to only have 2 draft picks producing in the NHL with multiple questions regarding the other 3 1st round picks.

The Superstar defenseman is still in negotiations to extend.

With that said, the potential upside is there. The rookie goalie who thinks he is Yoda (I hope he speaks like that for interviews) has the pressure of a failed organization on his shoulders.

The goal this season is to identify if:

- a 7th year vet can become something more than what he has shown in the past 6 seasons and then gamble if he will remain consistent

- a 7th round offensive specialist becomes a 200’ player

- a defenseman old as time is responsible for improving the D core

- a 5/6 dman becoming a top 4

- a sophomore player having a breakout offensive year in Peterka

- a sophomore dman taking a big jump in his game

- the rest of the roster having career years, this doesn’t mean just points

The questions that linger:

- Does coaching implement a system that doesn’t sacrifice offense but solidifies the d zone?

- PK improved, the pk players are a year older so technically they should be better

- Do the players tighten up when the pressure increases this season?

- Are they going to get pushed around out there?

“The Ducks are being choosy [with Zegras]? They want to break it? I heard there's a team looking that way and it's the Buffalo Sabres. The Sabers have to make the playoffs this year and you solve your problem by bringing Zegras,” the journalist told JiC.
