Going to borrow the phrase prospect brain from another poster when I was reading about Sabres fans thoughts on possibly trading for Zegras.

The fan base is teetering on becoming Rangers fan during the Eichel trade era about the teams prospects.

Savoie, Rosen, and a 1st as the primary pieces for Zegras is somehow too much?

Come on now.

If that's the deal, where do I sign?

This guy gets it...

Thompson, Zegras, and Cozens for the rest of the decade? Yeah, sign me up. At some point have to go from development mode to winning mode.

Won’t winning affect the Sabres draft position? You can’t win if you don’t draft high.

Savoie, Rosen, protected 24 1st for Zegras.

Sabres fans: No way. Too much to give up. Savoie could be great.

Reality: Probably closer to Peterka or Quinn, Savoie and a 1st.

Sabres fans: We don't need Zegras anyway. We have enough offense.

Training camp begins…year 4 of the wannabe bald guy show.

After rebuilding the past 3 seasons, 2 of the 4 first picks in the 1st round begin camp on injured reserve. The roster is projected to only have 2 draft picks producing in the NHL with multiple questions regarding the other 3 1st round picks.

The Superstar defenseman is still in negotiations to extend.

With that said, the potential upside is there. The rookie goalie who thinks he is Yoda (I hope he speaks like that for interviews) has the pressure of a failed organization on his shoulders.

The goal this season is to identify if:

- a 7th year vet can become something more than what he has shown in the past 6 seasons and then gamble if he will remain consistent

- a 7th round offensive specialist becomes a 200’ player

- a defenseman old as time is responsible for improving the D core

- a 5/6 dman becoming a top 4

- a sophomore player having a breakout offensive year in Peterka

- a sophomore dman taking a big jump in his game

- the rest of the roster having career years, this doesn’t mean just points

The questions that linger:

- Does coaching implement a system that doesn’t sacrifice offense but solidifies the d zone?

- PK improved, the pk players are a year older so technically they should be better

- Do the players tighten up when the pressure increases this season?

- Are they going to get pushed around out there?

“The Ducks are being choosy [with Zegras]? They want to break it? I heard there's a team looking that way and it's the Buffalo Sabres. The Sabers have to make the playoffs this year and you solve your problem by bringing Zegras,” the journalist told JiC.

Not sure why people care/comment about Adam’s lack of hair? Are you his wife? Lessens the impact of a decent post when it starts with a sentence like that. Irrelevant to everything

if ryan johnson made the opening night roster over stillman or bryson

the sabres would have 5 d men picked in the first round and samuelsson picked with the first pick in the second round

and if 1 of the first rd picks make that extra spot up front except for greenway and olofsson were picked in the first round

I got a tip from a pro baker to use ice cold vodka in the crust, instead of water. It does something sciency to the gluten and really made my crusts better.

And always put a pie on the bottom rack in the oven.

I'd rather use quality trade pieces on a guy like Rasmus Andersson tbh.

I am all for trading for Zegras in that scenario. But he doesn't play RD and isn't a goalie so our strongest area of depth (center) would definitely improve but our 2 biggest weaknesses/ question marks are still there. In a vacuum, that trade would move the needle, for sure. But then there's 3 less bargaining chips to help those other needs.
