I think if it was a slam dunk it would have been done by now.
We don't have access to what has been said behind closed doors, so until it is done it is not.
I think PA likes Petey but doesn't love him. I think for the right amount he would sign him. Aquilini I think wants him signed ASAP for money making reasons alone. I think Petey could be interested in moving on.
In most cases a deal gets done but in the last decade Vancouver has not been a desired destination so who knows how this will play out.
I think the team is now in the right direction but again we are still a few years away.

You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make him drink. If we miss the playoffs this year, that’s 10 times in a row. I’d bet Elias goes somewhere else and I bet there’s 15 teams offer him 10+, with half a dozen willing to go 14+.
He owes Vancouver nothing and if they don’t start moving upwards what motivation does he have? Spend his whole career without seeing a single real playoff run to make fans of Vancouver warm and content? - I-own_da-Northwest
Every team in the league will be asking about EP if he becomes available.
Yup, years ago... so if you're disparaging their writing now, and they were the only ones with enough talent to get paid and poached for their writing... you're reading and referencing absolute bottom of the barrel scraps there - NewYorkNuck
I think you have me confused with someone else, as I don't believe I have ever referenced CA, although I did reference a hockeybuzz article, but I think Nightie was the only one who realized I was passing around.
On the nhl32 in32 3 out of 4 panelists said the Canucks would miss again and that EP40 walks at season’s end. I think of that happens Demko won’t be too far behind. They haven’t made a real playoffs in 10 years now.
I personally don’t think they have enough grit or muscle to play in the league competitively. That could be their downfall.
But I hope with bringing in 4 more penalty killers and tochett allows them to squeak in. - I-own_da-Northwest
Not to always rain on the parade but, those penalty killers were on bottom 10 ranked penalty killing teams.
Scary highside by Pecco Bagnaia yesterday at the Catalan Moto GP, but he's fine, it brought back memories of Marco Simoncelli's crash in 2011 that took his life.
