Barzal is an above average player. I would not say elite because he has not proven to be that yet. However, he is definitely not junk

Dobson has averaged 50 points each of the last 2 seasons. Not 40. He is only 23 and still rounding out his game. He has the potential to be a 60-70 point player. Nylander is great but you don't trade a potential 60-70 point #1 defenseman for a good 80 point winger. Plus Dobsons cap hit is 4 million for the next 2 seasons while Nylander is 7 million this season and probably over 9 the following years.

If it's Pageau and Dobson, then a RD would most likely be going back to balance it out. Would love to say Timmins, but Liljegren makes more sense.

The Leafs won’t be able to sign him. They’ll more then likely hold out for the best offer which may push it out to the TDL. Any team even mildly interested in Nylander isn’t going to give up what he’s worth due to the Leafs perpetual, terrible cap management. Either that or they go for it and lose him for nothing after they lose in the playoffs. Again. Maybe they get a 3rd for his rights before FA which would be hysterical. I hope everyone on this thread can revisit the topic when it happens. You know like we do every year when the cup contenders lose in the playoffs and all of these clowns vanish from every thread besides theirs only to discuss vaccines and politics. Losers.
