So everything rests on the prospects being the end all of the team? As good as they all look, none of them are sure things.
I just think the is extremely short sighted. Sure put a high emphasis on it as it gives you better cost control in general, but I don’t think they can base the success of the franchise on the evaluation of 18 year olds. I also don’t think you pass up the opportunity to add a proven NHL player for a reasonable price… especially when you have excess assets. - Chunk
How about we just let the prospects develop more than 1 year? I'm the one being short sighted, okay.

No problem with that at all. Also don’t pass up a good opportunity. You can do both. |

Like the Kings did (are doing)! And they didn't give up their top prospects either.

With (hopefully) the added benefit that the Hawks best players will be young players and not guys that are 30+ |

Debrincat didn't want to extend in OTT and forced a trade as a RFA. Ditto Dubois and Meier who weren't going to extend with WPG and SJS respectively. Petterssen may be going down this path next summer. Don't know the exact returns those first three names got. A 1st and another pick and a prospect or two me thinks. I think that trend will continue.
Petterssen may extend with VAN or not, and if not KD may or may not pursue him for whatever reason. But somewhere down the road there will be other opportunities to obtain established players like the ones mentioned above wanting out of smaller markets like ARI, CBJ, SJS, CGY, WPG, OTT that KD could target, depending on the team's needs at the time.
Hard to predict who will be available 2 to 3 years from now . Just have to wait to see how things play out. |

Anyone have an idea what this is film of? What jumped out to me is the Dman in the first clip? Big kid beautifully fronted and stayed with Bedard using nice quiet body/feet, a very nice reach and excellent balance to cause Bedard to check up.
Anyone know who that kid is in the first clip?

Petterson wouldn't come to the Hawks. He has stated he wants to win. If the Canucks start the season like they did last season, he will want to be traded to a contender. |

Oh boy. Don't think I'll live long enough to forget some players...... Conversely a guy like Sopel was a worse skater and slower, hard to believe anyone was a worse skater than Rundblad, but he was a needed part of a couple cup squads playing important PK minutes.. |

You're probably right but in 2-3 yrs when the Hawks switch gears to make some noise a Pettersen type might be available as an RFA that wants outa where he is..... That time will come, whenever it is, and I'd assume KD looks at all options to acquire that kinda top 6 or 2nd pairing player. |

Right on, BM. But the time to up the ante and add whatever it is that's needed to move the thing forward will for sure come. Hopefully KD gets the right guy at a good price when it comes time to add the type of player he doesn't have but needs.
RFA's are prefered cuz they are younger players. Gonna be a fun time for Hawk's fans when that stage of the rebuild is here. |

And if a couple of their young D step up this year, we may see that move next offseason. While I believe in building through the draft, you also need a trade or two, and a signing or two to build a contender. Let’s see if KFC takes advantage when the time comes, and whether we like it or not, that time has been moved up a year by Bedard. So instead of two-three years down the road, don’t be surprised if it becomes one or two years now.

This guy analyzes Bedard’s results at the combine. Maybe this is why Bedard apparently spent some time at Gary Roberts hockey academy north of Toronto.

Hey, the Hawks got the best hockey player and the best athlete in the draft (Lardis... apparently). |

You think maybe the combine is kinda overrated and doesn’t present a true picture of a hockey player? |

Roblox aimbots are engineering marvels. These sophisticated programs analyze real-time game data, predicting enemy movements and enabling instantaneous target acquisition. As enticing as this may sound, it's imperative aimbot roblox to weigh the potential ethical and legal consequences when incorporating aimbots into your Roblox experience. |
