Pageau PPG in the playoffs: 0.500
Nylander PPG in the playoffs: 0.800
Saves the leafs nearly $2 million tho, but they need closer to $3 so I doubt this deal would be enough anyways. - Dozzer
he has grit and he great defensively, there more than ppg
But again, there a reason why you won one round in 20 years |

Still no deal yet? Maybe Pageau failed his physical.
Well the mental part most likely. Lotta pressure when you put the maple lreaf on your chest. |

Trying to figure out if it’s the French or the Mericans that are more clueless - I give the benefit of the doubt to the French but man it’s close eh.

It’s so bizarre to me that other teams and fans chirp so desperately at the Buds eh. Take a peek here at the time without a Cup. Some of these teams have NEVER even won a Cup EVER.
For example, the Canucks (never as an NHL franchise) and Sabres are 3 off Leafs. You telling me nobody was all over the Leafs 3 years ago? And just go down that list. People have been chirping Leafs since they were 5 years post Cup win.
Man - 30+ years with no Cup is a long time you know. How many folks posting on here have never seen their team win? A whole bunch. The most desperate flies are the ones that buzz from a team that have never seen a Cup banner though.
The Hockey Mecca will draw negativity eh. Badge of honour.

Many of these franchises weren't trying to win a Cup. Coyotes obviously operate with a minimal budget. Small market teams like Buffalo, Edmonton, Calgary, Ottawa spent much of this time trying to survive and not able to pay top dollar to retain talent. Nashville has operated with a budget well below the cap. So while all that was going on...Toronto was outspending most of the NHL and then when the cap came they always maximized it. Big difference.

Oh my goodness haha - I have read some silly stuff on here but claiming that teams weren’t trying to win is by far the #1 goofy comments in the ranks man. I have heard so many excuses but this is amazing. Yikes |

So Arizona has been trying to win? Ottawa when Melnyk slashed the payroll? Did Buffalo think trading Hasek for Slava Kozlov was a good hockey trade? Obviously you still try to win games and hope for a miracle. But pretty naive to think all 32 franchises are equally motivated to win a Cup...

Cool - so let’s try this eh:
Leafs were never trying win, ever. The plan all this time was to get players (especially in no cap era) that were maybe at the end of the line career wise just to put bums in seats and make cash on merch and tv deals. They were never trying to win either. They spent money trying to get big names but not constructing a winning roster. That works too eh bud?
I can’t continue with this conversation man I feel like I’ll lose my Canadian Hockey Fan card if I do: it’s just so ridiculous.
Cheers eh have a good one bud. |

“ Im hearing Hanifin and Tanev with 2 million in retained salary for Willy and a 2024 1st.”
Yeah right. Tanev and Backlund with 50% retained on Backs for Nylander and Liljegren. With the retention that’s fair and adds some much needed defensive presence to the Leafs. - TandA4Flames

But the last time the Leafs won, there were only 5 other teams to beat, not quite the same

Yeah, in a 32 team league, all other things being equal, fans can expect 1 Cup every 32 years.

Why not? Was it easier then or harder? Harder now or easier? Schedule, travel, competitiveness of the league, player development.
I’d love for you to expand on your notion. |

that and hey had "packed" teams and could not pass rd1 over and over - Xizord
Packed teams that were always the #1 seed and overall agreed favourite amongst fans media alike? I don’t remember that at man.
I know it’s easy to hate on that team but try to be logical with your arguments buds. |
