So looking ahead to next year, we'll have to see how much the cap goes up, but we have Guentzel to re-sign. Better be more than 1mil, but with Carter's contract coming off the books and the cap going up(hopefully at least 3mil) Dubas might be able to do something.

It was a factor in my in my initial thoughts. However, it is true that a true 1C is one of the, if not most, important and also hardest to obtain, pieces for a team.

So looking ahead to next year, we'll have to see how much the cap goes up, but we have Guentzel to re-sign. Better be more than 1mil, but with Carter's contract coming off the books and the cap going up(hopefully at least 3mil) Dubas might be able to do something.

Yeah its crazy....when this season is over, if the roster is still as is it is now, you only have Guentzel and Rudy as UFA's and Ty Smith and POJ as RFA's to worry about. Everyone else is signed.....and I wouldnt say they'll be all that "worried" about Rudy hahah

EDIT: Nedeljkovic will be UFA as well....not sure what to think of him....Wings and Canes gave up on him pretty quickly....

After clearing waivers last year he did say he focused a lot more on the mental side of things so if he could work on that and improve his consistency he should be adequate. Probably a smidge below CDS quality wise but should be more reliable in terms of durability.
