Anyways A off-season for Dubas. Got rid of all of our bad contracts excepted one, managed to bring in a future hall of famer, and got his guy in the draft. The only thing keeping him from a + is that he wasn’t able to get a 3C or address depth scoring but our bottom six finally has a coherent identity and solid if unspectacular players which hasn’t been the case for a while.

Extremely lucky. Think about this, we have had at least one of Lemieux, Jagr, Crosby, and Malkin playing on this team since 1984...that's gonna hit 40 straight years of having one them when we get into 2024.... (frank)ing nuts.

SJ fans were acting like the Pens would have to pay a 1st and top prospect for EK, then a 1st for retention, then on top of that more picks for taking back Granlund or Petry. I've been on there a few times to mock them

I do think they’ll hold their own and will definitely be able to eat the minutes they need to. The problem is that scoring goals in the NHL is hard and even the greats go cold for a while. At some point we’re going to need depth scoring and that’s just not what any of these players do. We’re gonna have to win games 1-0, 2-1. Obviously Karlsson helps this a ton so we’ll see how it plays out but ideally I’d like to have one forward that’s good at scoring goals on that third line.

So obviously the answer is to trade our last bad player (Carter) for their good player (W. Nylander).
