I thought Smith looked great at RD when we played him there last year. Great possession numbers and that was while dragging Dumo's remains around. And that's your best replacement if Letang or Karlsson are injured.

I don't know if Sully would do it, but I'd like to run POJ-Smith as the third pair since we shockingly did this and retained both. I'm pretty excited about our D top to bottom.

Does Petts/POJ get moved for forward depth perhaps?

Friedman or Ruh on 3rd pair?

Did we ultimately trade Petry, Matheson, & Marino for Karlsson & Smith, with some picks being swapped?

Highly doubt Petts is moved.

Yea our D is pretty damn good haha. So who plays with Sid and Rakell until Jake gets back?
- 668710

I'm going with DOC but I don't feel great about it. Though not as bad as when I try to make a third line.

That's not a bad idea if they can find a forward trade.

No. It was rumored SJ really wanted him and Dubas refused to include him.

Not thrilled with Ruh as a regular. I thought he was pretty bad last season.

Play EK and Tanger 30 mins a night each and move Carter to 3RD.

I like Tojos ideas of POJ-Smith third pair.

So basically could try DOC, Pustinen, maybe Poulin?! Not sure what he's gonna look like with that year off.
- 668710

Doubt Poulin is going to make an impact this season. DOC plays a straight forward game. Could fit with them.

I’m no fan of petts, but I would only move him if we were going after hanafin still. Now the question will be what the top two pairs look like?

Does Letang get the better player out of graves/petts because he will most likely be getting the harder assignments, or does ek get the better defensive partner because he is a bigger defensive risk.

TBH I could see our 3rd pairing getting limited minutes. Which is why I not as worried with Ruh being on our 3rd pairing. They will probably try to put Karlsson or Letang out there as much as they can.

I was quite surprised Smith and/or POJ weren't moved. Then again I would assume Dubas isn't finished with Guentzel being out.

I'd go with chemistry. Petts and Graves are both good defensively so they can help cover those areas for either Letang or EK.

I’ve got a real problem with Dubas’s choices in eyewear. But I haven’t been this excited for opening season since we signed Kessel.

I'd hope there'd be another move for a Pius Suter or Tatar at around $2 mil. When Guentzel comes back you can send Potluck and Nylander down. If they get claimed, so be it.

Probably the Sweden connection with Petts/Karlsson
Then Graves/Tanger. But I'm sure poop will change haha

I though Letang and Petts were pretty good last year. I think they stay together.

Graves has a heavy shot, maybe Karlsson can make use of it.
