Top D-men have always been more valuable than top wingers
Think Hall for Adam Larsson...yes I've pulled an extreme example, but it's played out often in history that a top pairing D-men will tend to have more value than a top 3 winger

Hanifin is 26 years old, mobile, point getter minute muncher and has tons of experience especially for a position that traditionally takes longer to develop and most top d-men would only be establishing themselves at his age
