Honestly tho, if they can avoid injuries they might just surprise us. They were doing well until the wheels fell off.

even when they basically had an AHL roster out there they managed to give a good effort last year, they lost a whole bunch of games but they weren't being completely outclassed night after night either.

if they go from breaking NHL records in terms of injuries to being relatively healthy, they should automatically be a better team.

I expect them to still have a top 10 pick (and not because of a lottery win) next summer.

They will be better than last year (not only because of hopefully less injuries), likely in the playoff picture until maybe the New Year (where people and media will be calling/screaming for trades to bolster the roster), but they are not a playoff team yet.

I expect HuGo to hold the line.

As they should.

Until they get rid of some of the bad contracts and free up space, cap and contracts, I will let them keep up the good work. Once the mistakes are gone then I expect improvement in leaps and bounds.

But that is kind of the timeline... 1-2 years of those, and then they kids they have now should have 2-3-4 years of experience and a few others jump in.

Then I expect them to make moves to add missing pieces to the core, something like the Kings did this year.

So yeah, I am looking forward to 2- years down the line.

Til then, just wanna see those kids keep developing and getting ice time.

oh Hughes isn't gonna be a buyer at the deadline, if this is what you're implying lol. if they remain healthy all year, finishing in the league's bottom tier would be a bit disappointing, but whatever.

I agree.

My point is that if they are somewhat close to the playoffs going into the new year, there will be a lot of pressure (media and fans) to make a big move. Which they should not do, stay the course.

Also, they are not making the playoffs this year, so by default, they will be in the bottom tier.

thank you for sharing the depressing results of your lame crystal ball, but there are 16 teams that make the playoffs every year, so they could also be closer to the middle of the pack than at the bottom if they don't make it.

Not much of a difference between 17th and 22nd, points wise, is my guess.

Whatever makes you happy.

I'd rather another top 10 pick, and potentially get lucky with the lottery and move into the top few picks.

meh, don't want to hear about a (frank)ing draft again, at least for a while. no matter where they end up there's lots of positives to look up to, we'll see how things go.
