Tony D has almost zero value around the league. The Canes seem to be the only team interested at the moment and that's only if the Flyers basically give him away.
I do not think that will improve much if at all as the season plays out. The Flyers have 3 or 4 players I would rather see get third pair minutes over TA at this point. If he is here for the season so be it. I am 100% fine with him being gone in this specific deal though.
We will really get a confirmation on Torts being all in on the rebuild this season. If 1 or 2 of the young d-men outplay the vets will he play them? I am doubtful he will. I hope I am wrong. - mickel25
There is a big difference between taking on salary in the beginning of the season in a flat cap versus at the trade deadline. When cap hits are prorated. Teams have a better grasp of their cap situation and injurie create need. As well as teams looking for playoff depth. If Angelo is kept and he continues to produce offensively, the market for him at the deadline would be expanded some.
As far as the latter comments. I'm with you. |

Torts let TDA play last year. Truth is he’s a one dimensional D man. Maybe the Flyers can acquire a 2nd for one of those guys…I just don’t see it… - landros 2
Didn't Torts permanently tell him not to dress for the last 2 weeks of the season, to the point he went into a game with 5 dmen rather than dress him? Anyone interested probably thinks the Flyers will just buy him out eventually.

I think Torts had seen enough. The frustration for both player and coach was evident.
I agree that if they can’t move him a buyout is probably the likely outcome. |

Capfriendly still has him listed as a free agent. I saw the offer but didn't see anything bout him actually signing.

Well i hear he's good in the locker room. Flyers like to keep those guys whether they can play or not.

is he really a middling prospect? He was drafted by the hurricanes and they cant seem to do no wrong in many eyes around here. - hello it's me 2050
All I said was that he may be a late bloomer. Led his college team in scoring and finished 11th overall in NCAA scoring this past season. |

Flyers just inked Cates to a two-year, $5.25 million contract extension ($2.625 million average annual value), nice bump for him. I would think Frost would get at least this much also. |

I personally don't believe there is any question that they can do better trading Angelo at the deadline than a middling prospect and retaining 50% for a full season. However for those three, they might get a decent pick but overall, not much. They have to reconcile Tortorella's trade demand list. - MJL
No question. Forcing a DeAngelo trade and taking whatever in return is ridiculous. Play out the contract, produce on the power play, get higher value at the deadline. |

I don't know how much influence Tulsky has, but I do know Carolina are everything the Flyers aren't. Smart, successful, ruthless.

Let me rephrase, Torts needs to let DeA play and not bench him. Just let him put up points and avoid the drama. |

Rizzo may have been a 2019 7th round pick, but he has had two good seasons for the University of Denver. Last year he was better than a 1 point/game player as a sophomore. There seems to be upside here. |
