Part of the issue is that right now everyone is filling out their rosters and do not want to be saddled with another contract on the books, just on a chance.

If this was during pre-season, might be a different result.

But perhaps, this is a wake-up call for the kid to get his poop together before he ends up in the AHL permanently (or Europe, which is a more likely scenario).

Yep. Also somebody who was interested would wait until they try to bring him up to the NHL (if they do) and nab him then at less dollars spent. Sad state of affairs though. One of the bigger disappointments in a while.

As for the glasses Slafkovsky is wearing during his on-ice drills, they use strobe training to improve an athlete’s hand-eye coordination, balance, focus, and timing, which are aspects of his game that have significant room for growth.

Reinbacher maybe but the path is easier on the right side. they will need to move someone on the left side to make space for Hutson, the left side is already VERY crowded. Matheson, Guhle, Harris, Jackeye and you have Engstrom who is showing a lot of promise also, should be ready in 2yrs...and you still have Trudeau developing in the AHL.
