According to Tochett , Podz is completely shredded. He told him to back off a bit from the training.
“ I saw him walking around at development camp and he looks shredded. He looks lean. It’s almost like I told him, he’s the type of guy you tell him ‘make sure you’re in shape’, and then he works out every single day. I told him to back off and take a little vacation, I think he’s going to have a child here soon so just enjoy your baby and stuff too, don’t get too crazy. That’s the one thing I love about him is he does work hard.”

Podz and wifey had their first kid today. 22 year old papa.

K'Andre Miller extended 2 x3.8

Rangers have approximately $3.05M in space on 12+7+2 without Lafreniere...

Grats Pod 👍

That’ll cost NYR down the road still he’s trending very well. Wish we had him.

Laffy will be on a prove it deal my bet.

That is a smoking deal for the Rangers for K Miller. These are the value deals that push teams over the top. Now if the Coilers get something like this for Bouchard, watch out.

Arizona #Yotes have signed UFA Travis Dermott.

1 year / 2-way deal
NHL: $800,000
Minor: $450,000

Freaken PA should have traded him for a second round pick.

Warning CA article coming..,

https://canucksarmy.com/n...less-canucks-penalty-kill

Although I liked the short handed threat both EP & JTM provided injury risk on the PK is a bit of a concern. Also using our top 2 C’s on the PK leaves us lacking offense once or if it gets killed. On the other side of the coin I don’t like sitting them all the time. So I do agree less PK is good but they cannot be taken outta games sitting on the bench for extended period of times. This is where Bleuger comes in & good on the dot. Miky healthy should help the PK. On D hopefully new adds can improve a lot & push Myers onto the 2nd PK. Wonder which other F’s will help the PK?

The PK is my biggest concern.

We should promote NH. He's a cheery little focker, unlike our morbid guy who I am told, writes when things are dismal. You would think he would have material every day.

I don’t want to rain on your parade or anything, and Soucy is a decent player and I would have liked it if the Kraken could have kept him as opposed to signing that old Penguins guy, but he’s basically left side Tucker Poolman without the injury.

On the plus side, he rivals the great Ryan Kesler when it comes to the looks department. I’m sure Nucker will be putting up a poster.

From yardbarker links…

https://thehockeywriters....g-right-free-agent-moves/

Mostly true imo but still need to see it come to fruition. Crux time to move forward & plenty is riding on this to change the course of the last number of down & poor seasons. Still seeing 2024/25 as the real season as make or break time. Resignings coming & cap increase gymnastics heading the list. 2023/24 has to be a spring board to get excitement back up for this suffering fanbase. Myself included. All of the pain needs to see gain lol

Been getting some good laughs, when you are trolling me, all in good fun.

Sucks having to be gloomy about the team I cheer for, but just haven't seen much to be optimistic about.

There are 2 countries I don't cheer for in hockey, and the Canucks just keep loading up on players from those countries.

Yes all in good fun👍

Well it’s a new season & let’s hope we see real improvement for a change.

As for players origin it’s not a big deal to me. More focus on getting a deep D corp & prospects is my bag. On the ice we are long overdue for a better more consistent product we all can get behind. Optimism aside this Mgmt group is now under the microscope after some time has passed since the JB fiasco.

A link excerpt following a pile of analytics…

“In all, the Canucks were likely buoyed by their powerplay, sunk by rough goaltending, ineffective 5v5 offence, and a really bad penalty kill. Not much of this is a surprise, but the numbers offer a look at how bad they were in comparison to the league, while also offering up insights as to what went right. There’s a lot to improve on before this team can make the postseason (and make noise), but the stats have shown exactly where to address their shortcomings”

Pretty good summary on the challenges.
