JPat just put out a tweet says Willander makes it look easy, with a video, it was pathetic…he was just coasting.

Seen some video pre draft, and when I heard PA say from the Swedish league on the podium I thought thankfully we finally got a good RHD.

But was his coasting fast?

I was just listening to Donnie & Dhaliwal interview Button, he said a right shot dman is a high value position and they don’t come around very often. They did well drafting Willander, they were asking him if they made a mistake passing on Benson, he said no.

Edit: For whatever that’s worth.

is that a curse? He actually said Virtanen was a bad pick, unlike me, so there is that. One for Button!!

I seen some from yesterday. He is impressive.

Jurmo looked good also but the team seems to be reluctant about him.

I’ve read they have concerns about his hockey sense, skilled guy but doesn’t think the game well during actual games.

I still think Willander is going to be a better player than Simashev. He gives up 3 inches of height but he is still strong, an excellent skater and has a way more rounded game. Also plays the right side... With Simashev, they would get a great defender and high end skating on the left side... doesn't check as many boxes as Willander. I think Shimashev will be a great player still... mobility with that kind of size is hard to come by.

Which is a shame because he's big and surprisingly fast.

So do I.

Simashev might play earlier but I think Willander by draft year +5 will really separate himself.

I've only seen two short clips of Lekkerimaki at development camp. How's he looking overall aside from that wicked shot?

One can only dream. I've heard scouts compare him to Hamhuis with a higher ceiling. They are not talking clone of course. Just his well rounded set of skills.

I personally think the offensive game was coached out of Hamhuis in Nashville, he could have been more.

I thought he was overhyped but I admit he was very reliable ,sturdy, and exactly what a team needs.

Finally nice to see some hope for the future.
