I didn't realize how big Columbus is, the metro population is something like 2.2 million. Ohio is actually the 7th most populous state in the USA with around 12 million people. To your point, yes, OSU is huge here, as are the Reds and Bengals.

I'm not high on Bedard at the NHL level, his north/south skating isn't breakaway speed, which he'll need if he wants to be a center in the NHL. I think he settles in on the wing. Obviously a fantastic player but I've been told he cheats a lot defensively, something that is common among all young players, but that won't fly in the professional game.

They have players like Dries, Studnicka,Brisebois etc, on the current capfriendly roster, I am sure they could find some room.
