The point being, with Hughes and Pettersson being 23 and 24 years old, they should’ve been rebuilding in an extremely strong draft year. But I get it, they wanna compete as they’ve been losing for a LONG time. I know there’s no guarantees in a rebuild, but there’s no guarantees in a re-tool either, as we’ve seen over the past decade. Damned if you do, damned if you don’t.

They traded an old, overpaid UFA plug for a center prospect and 25 year old top 4 RHD. It really was a homerun. Not sure what the point of mentioning the islanders pick as they never had intentions of keeping it

It was tear it down to the studs or compete. I don’t think Pouty was staying unless they made dramatic improvements. I wanted them to trade Pouty, Hughes and Miller but I understand it wasn’t a reasonable expectation.

Teams don’t rebuild when they have young high end pieces like that. I just find the constant whining annoying. It’s not a rebuild. Get over it Canuck fans

I seen a few plays with Jurmo today. He looks like a big kid with very good position on the play. For the first time with him I am hopeful.
