for any of you/us habs fans who are disappointed, upset or otherwise think they are smarter than the current habs decision makers, don't let your emotions override your brains.

understand that a "rebuild" is from the organizational core, up! it means being methodical and filling in key pieces one piece at a time. it means being smart, patient and opportunistic. the dream of michkov is just that. the next coming of lafleur? richer? naslund? bedard 2.0? maybe. maybe not. but one certainty about michkov is that management and we habs fans wouldn't know for sure for at least 3 years. and in that 3 years, the canadiens management would have no control over his development, or in his integration into the core of this organization that they are building. in other words, too many unknows and too many uncontrolables.

this canadiens management group is too smart to leave that much to chance at this early point of their rebuild. we habs fans finally have a competent management group running the team. we just got through 9 years of bergevin flying by the seat of his pants.

it's high time that we habs fans accept and embrace a full rebuild. the pick of reinbacher in the first round was the right move at the right time. i trust in that when the right time comes to add the next lafleur, richer or naslund level talent, this group of hughes and gorton will have the means and the vision to make it happen.
