Zucker was f'n awesome on the forecheck and boards last season. I think he will be missed if he goes elsewhere. He would compliment a Geno-Reilly line very well IMO. He would do a lot of the digging and dirty work. - MattStrat
I wouldn't mind Zuck back at like 4m per but I think that's highly unlikely, I'd also rather look elsewhere first (Bertuzzi, Compher, etc. before circling back to Zucker). It'd be nice if they actually added a few younger guys for once, gotta bring down that average age haha.

lol Tatar. I wouldn't mind Pacioretty and Wheeler (if he is bought out) if we were going geriatric that is lol. Truthfully I hope we go after some unqualified RFAs this offseason to bring in some youth. |

From yohe on Twitter-
Interesting stuff from Nick Pryor talking about what Kyle Dubas has told scouts. He has told them, in regards to the draft, that he wants them “swinging for home runs on players with high offensive upside.”
I know next to nothing about the players being drafted, but according to internet draft people, seems like the guy we took was the complete opposite of that. - wsldck
I wouldn't agree with that. I think Yager's offensive upside was the biggest available. Guess that depends on how you feel about Perrault. But for tools I'd take Yager. Basically a guy everyone was disappointed in his goal scoring, but everyone also loves his shot. |

Im down with Tatar for the bottom 6. Could jump up to top 6 when injuries inevitably hit. Plus he's 32 years old so he'll fit right in.... I just wouldn't give him 4.5 per like the past few seasons...even though 20G/28A's is in line with 4 to 5 mill hahah |

I made a post about it on a different thread but Yager said going into this season he didnt want to be seen as just a goal scorer but a guy who can be a playmaker and also be really strong 2-ways. So that is what he spent the year working on and while his goal scoring disappointed vs expectations, scouts called out how good he was as a 200ft player and how well he did matching up against opponents top players.
So he hurt his draft position but probably took a big leap toward being a better NHLer. I wasn't super high on him until I started reading interviews with him and he has the mindset. I think he is going to be a stud.
In retrospect, I'd have taken him over a handful of guys in the top 10. |

I like Bertuzzi but I'd rather have Zuck and the extra cap space. Only reason I don't think we will keep Zuck will be term.

Yea and sometimes players that drop make out in the situation because they end up on a better team. Now I'm getting excited at him possibly making our bottom 6 haha 😂 |

Bertuzzi is hitting the market so it will be interesting what he gets. I think Smith was clearly the pens target to round out the top 6. Now they hunt for a legit 3rd line, top 4 LD, and goaltending. |

Since you’re into guitars I’d compare Mcdavid to Billy strings. All the skill in the world but can’t write a good song to save his life. |

Ehh, Bertuzzi is the younger player we need. And zuck was awesome last year but I'm not ignoring the 3 past seasons of injuries. I put Jarry in the same boat as Zuck. Love their abilities but need to be healthy. |

I'm convinced Dubas is going to do at least one "splashy" move to put his fingerprints on this team. I really like the Hanifin rumors. Perfect add to rejuvenate the D. |

Goaltending should be our #1 priority. It's been our killer the past few seasons/playoffs. |

Uhh the knock on Bertuzzi would be health as well especially considering he’s already had to have back surgery once. |

Dubas has been asked about tending... His response was how unpredictable it can be. I think he's going to throw a couple of new guys (couple of 1b's) at the wall and see if it sticks. Not saying it's the best approach, but it doesn't seem like it's HIS #1 priority.
Marshall was on the radio yesterday saying the Pens should be doing everything they can to pry Vejmelka from Zona. That should make 123kid happy.

hahaha not sure this analogy works. Whether a song is good to someone or not is a matter of opinion....however talent and skill isnt a matter of opinion. Both McDavid and Billy Strings have an abundance of both. He's a crazy flat picker and I dont mind a few of his tracks at all, I just can't listen to him non stop for long periods. Busy bluegrass like that needs to be broken up when listening for me. |

I'm wondering if Dubas is targeting a #1 like Ullmark or if he goes the 1a/1b route like he spoke of in his first presser. |

Yohe's article pretty much said what we have thought. Petry is being dangled everywhere. Might have to eat 1-1.5m to get rid of him. If it is just 1M, we only have to worry about that for 2 years. Totally fine with it.
As for Granlund, I hope he buys him out today. That would clear 8-10m salary, putting us around 23-25m in cap space. We could continue to weaponize it and make a splash in FA. I know, I know....Beating a dead horse here. |

I'd be fine taking a shot with Nedeljkovic, but as a back up to a more proven goalie. Definitely not with those other two |
