Seriously though. Rather test the waters for 9 games with him than Nylander. I guess I should look up if he’s a junior player but don’t feel like it.
- Grinder47

Oh never mind. I thought you were making a joke about gassing a year of elc like we did with sprong by keeping him up just longer than the allotted games.

Doobie was seen talking at length with Dorion after the draft.

I believe teams are now doing this on purpose. They don't mind burning a year of ELC because it generally means a cheaper 2nd contract/bridge deal instead of the player doing super well and having to pay big bucks.

If he would swim rather than sink then a year of his ELC helps Crosby. Don’t worry I have no faith in Sullivan to make such a move. The kid will play top six minutes in junior then the AHL and be called up at 21 to play 8 minutes on the fourth line. I just think it’s worth 9 games if he can already skate at an NHL level.

I don't think anyone would object if he does well in training camp. The fact he already values back checking might help with Sullivan, though that hasn't helped DOC.

It would be amazing if this kid could be our 3c. Big stretch but would be awesome. Give him a chance!

Did you fat finger “Hanifin” there? If so that’s what Rossi reported but he’s not confident we can beat other teams on his list and it sounds like we didn’t get any bites on Petry who’d be a must move if we got Hanifin.

Auto correct but yeah. I’m just surprised. No one ever wants to come here lol. I doubt we can get him too. Maybe sign Poj to an 8 year extension and start there. then the flames know he can’t leave for 8 years. That’s got to be worth something to them haha

I'm not so sure Dubas even wants Granlund gone....
- MattStrat

It’s easy to want him gone after a mediocre or worse showing. But it’s early and just maybe the dude can pull it together and bring something to the table. I agree he did nothing to show me he’s worth his contract but trades sometime take a bit to pan out. It didn’t look good though I’ll give you all that.

David Poile wouldn't even hold that sexy a$$ Les Paul fresh from the Gibson factory in Nashville he was gifted by Josi and Rinne last night, let alone end up playing it at all. What a f'n waste. He wont even strum a chord on that.

EDIT: flamed maple tops mmmmm

The funny thing is that if his argument was more based on the fact that just because they score a lot, doesnt mean they are the "most valuable" player, I would've fought on that hill with him because I agree 100%, but then he puts Pasta on his ballot which is laughable. Add that to some of the other ridiculous votes he's made in the past... guessing he just wants his name out there.

That team signs my good buddies pay cheques which he could be fired for if that came back on him in anyway. And hes probably the main reason I have a scouting job today.
From what hes heard (before the draft) the ask is similar but a little higher to the Hronek trade which was a 1st and 2nd without an extension in place. In my opinion thats well worth it as I think hes a top 35 ish dman in the league.

I have no idea if this went anywhere or how close it was or if it could still happen or if it was even true but we got told Nylander for Dobson was gonna happen on draft night...
