I’m gonna defend pens4lyfe here. Every time he’s claimed to know something it’s been legit. I don’t think he’s lying about having a friend that’s a scout that occasionally gives him nuggets and he’s probably respecting his friend if he was asked to keep team X under wraps.

If I remember correctly, Pens4life has a real connection to an NHL club. Scouting? His insight is actually real. If Ek were smart, he monitor his posts.

Yea he is an actual scout or something, my cousins friend is a scout and I think someone else knows a scout or something.

That team signs my good buddies pay cheques which he could be fired for if that came back on him in anyway. And hes probably the main reason I have a scouting job today.
From what hes heard (before the draft) the ask is similar but a little higher to the Hronek trade which was a 1st and 2nd without an extension in place. In my opinion thats well worth it as I think hes a top 35 ish dman in the league.

I have no idea if this went anywhere or how close it was or if it could still happen or if it was even true but we got told Nylander for Dobson was gonna happen on draft night...

I think that’s mostly a function of no one ever says “no offense” and actually means it. It’s the same as “bless their heart”.

If Dobson is indicative of what the Leafs are targeting we have no shot. Don’t have any young proven players like that. Unless they decide they absolutely love POJ.

Rust has a full NMC according to Capfriendly. I would suspect maybe it's Granlund going the other way for cap space? Also only two years on his deal so maybe the sens would like that?

Got to say, I appreciate you giving us some insight on Dubas.

No problemo.

I am a little biased to Dubas as I think he's a great GM. However, I try to be objective when possible. Like you can pull up pressers from the trade deadline where he says he liked the leafs prospects and rather trade the unknown picks instead of the "known" prospects.

He also rarely trades roster players in season. He likes to add depth at the deadline without changing the roster if possible. He got burned in like his first year by not having enough D depth in the playoffs and the team got wrecked with injury. Stupid Gardiner.

Last i heard, he has a list of teams he'd sign with. penguins werent one of them. honestly, im not interested in him anyway.

Lots of speculation. Teams in on him change daily and realistically if he was going to half the teams rumored it would have happened before the draft.
