Scott Glennie, Calvert's line mate was taken 8th to Dallas. Bust. Brayden Schenn with a ring.
Canucks took an overage kid that scored less than McDonough 3 rounds higher than McDonough.
I don't have issue with the big Swede or the college kid. At least he near the top of his league where Perkins isn't close.
Celebrini reminds me of the Jackson Dorrington pick from last year. - manvanfan
I listened to Todd Harvey talk about their picks, he said they were drafted for their projected contributions not what they’re doing now, per se, which is true for most mid to late round kids. Said they see a potential third line center in Mueller. |

Brackett is good because he drafted a faller that other teams didn’t want? - CanuckDon

I just find it hilarious. Whatever team picks the most fallers in the draft is always deemed the winner. There is a reason teams pass on these kids. Fire all of the scouts and just draft off Bob”s list and you can win the draft . But yes, the kid looks intriguing. Too bad we haven’t had a 2nd for 18 years |

Neem calls Marwood a cripple, Filipinos mail order brides, and women broads but goes on the warpath when I say people in Yellowknife are unemployed on welfare and have drinking problems. Pot meet kettle.
Known fact it is figgen cold up there also.
Life is too short to spend a lot of time wasting it on idiots like those two, back to what a great draft we had. |

He’s a great pick, and in this case, it just speaks to the depth of the draft. |

I've ever called you old and racist cause you are old continue to say stupid poop like today. Known facts, as you said. You have no idea if he is on welfare or has a drinking problem, your assumption says a lot more about you. See the difference? And as for Donny, you would find it funny. Huge shocker there!

He resorts to name calling upon being challenged for his opinions. I have never made any personal attacks on him and yet as we all can see he has tried to make them on me on several occasions. He's so off-base that it really has never mattered to me what he says, I just find it funny how much it has escalated over time |

R4 was definitely a head scratcher, I like Celebrini where we got him and I think our 1st and 3rd round picks were fantastic. - Retinalz
Even reading after big project players but they aren't young, one was draft+2 and the other draft+1 and they were both older kids in their draft years and are still very big projects. The Swede I can see. The other two, very questionable picks by literally everyone outside of poor draft Canucks scouting department. |

Yeah, you can always understand taking a guy who's 6'6" at 18 years old that deep into the draft, but any time a team drafts a 20 year old who isn't a goalie it seems like a weird choice. |

I will tell you why. I personally think you are dumb as fuc k and go out and wake up every day looking to go out and tell people that they are wrong. You said earlier something that I said five years ago and I don't care enough to remember sh1t you said yesterday. You have got to let go your infatuation of me pal.
I know there is not much to do in YK but get a hobby. You think a big trip is going to Edmonton for a vacation and I see it as are you crazy. You come out taking shots as you did today and yesterday and when I swing back you go all self righteous and look to the other idiot to come to your rescue.
If you or the other racist never said anything to me again I would be perfectly fine with that but you two morons need to go out stir poop and then hide behind the discrimination card. Stay on your side of the fence and I would probably never say anything to you again seeing I don't find your takes interesting. |

Given the low probability of a pick in Round 3-7 making it to the NHL, those rounds are the time to be taking big swings on guys with an elite-level skill, be it speed, shot, vision etc. Lots of other ways to find players for your 4th line or bottom pairing. I don’t know enough about the players to comment. It sounds from those who follow the junior ranks more closely that the picks were of the safe and low ceiling variety. But hopefully Harv and his crew know better. |

Gotta say, now that the dust has settled on the 2023 draft, I'm not particularly enthusiastic about the #Canucks work.
They've brought some good prospects into their system in Tom Willander and Hunter Brzustewicz, but not much else, and they left a lot of talent on the board
I don't know about a lot. There was probably only 2 players that I would have looked for past the 4th round. |

Not having that 2nd round pick hurt. They wasted the cap space it created and there was a lot of good players in that round that could help this team for years to come. Oh well.
Willander was a smart pick. I'm really happy to be not disappointed like last years first round selection. That was a bummer and very few felt otherwise.

Couture is 34 and signed for four more years at 8 million and year, yikes!! Like to see them take Myers off the Canucks hands though. - LeftCoaster
Doug Wilson destroyed that team financially. The Jim Benning school of finance. |

He did, just hanging on for dear life signing players to ridiculous long term deals. He was so stressed out he gave himself a nervous breakdown. |

Hola!
I see everyone is having fun in here. Willander was a solid choice for the Canucks, well done Alvin.
