Yes, I didn't like the Hayes signing and certainly didn't like the DeAngelo signing because I felt the Flyers needed to rebuild last off-season. Recall I hated the Risto resigning and thought he should have been moved at the deadline. What I am saying here is there must have been other things that have happened behind the scenes that has prompted Briere to move DeAngelo now versus next trade deadline when it would make the most sense.

It could be, but I think there is more to it that has not come out.

I think Provey is what he is. I think he was overrated by Hextall and his staff. In hindsight Werenski would have been the better pick. But Provey is a good NHL defenseman, just not a top pairing defenseman which is what was hoped for. Yes in hindsight he should have spent at least a season in the minors and not rushed to the NHL, but consider who rushed him, Hextall, and also consider that Hextall typically does not rush players the to the NHL, but instead does the complete opposite.

I think Provorov has an opportunity to return to form. He’ll absolutely have a steady partner in Columbus and if the Jackets remain healthy and play this draft smart, they can only surpass the Flyers. If Provorov doesn’t play with the right attitude, that’s on him.

From the optimism of landing another first and ridding of Sanheims contract, to the word of getting a 1st and 2nd for Laughton, the the sky high expectations of trading TK for a kings ransom… to right now silence. But, that might be a good thing. I think we’re all waiting for the fun to begin.

I would think all the games Torts and Briere watched from the press box at the end of the season that’s what they discussed. I would assume that during the game Tots would point out the reasons why the player wasn’t playing how their system was taught.
At least I would hope that’s how it was so that the GM and coach could agree on who should stay and who should go. Plans only work if the key people on the team buy in to the plan.

According to ASF they did meet with him and his family. The way he talks is that Michkov is Briere's #1 guy and he has been looking for ways to move up to make sure gets him.
