Apparently, you're ignoring not only my past comments in reply to you on Sanheim while also completely ignoring all of the factual available information. That's the only way you can come to the ridiculous opinion you have offered. Just another hot take from you.

you better save these quotes to use again in 3 years

you still haven't answered if you organize these by poster or by team issue...?

Flyers did the smart thing and take the D man imo. We just spent a decade trying to trade for D men after the fact and look where it got us.
- hereticpride

If Bonk ends up being a top pair dman i agree but the article says that he projects as a 3-4 dman best case. They can be found and the Flyers have indeed drafted them in the past and a few on their roster this year.

The Flyers keep trying to trade for a #1 dman, Bonk is not that guy (or at least he's not projected to be that guy). Not discounting that he can be a solid dman for the Flyers and they need to rebuild their depth but he does not solve their top end dman talent issues.

So assuming that that both players hit their projected ceilings (which won't happen but hypothetically) would you rather have a 1st line winger or 3-4 RH stay at home defenseman?

I still can’t believe the two D men went ahead of Michkov. Unreal.
- hereticpride

Simeshev was the best defenseman in the draft IMO, he is going to be a beast, just not sure yet for which team once his rookie contract expires.

There were no top pairing defenseman projected from this draft, they were all in the 2nd pairing range. With that said the Flyers got a RHS 2nd pairing defensive prospect.

bottom to me is they really have no interest in trading those 2 players. Will gladly admit I was wrong if they do.
- hello it's me 2050

Well if they truly have no interested in trading tk laughts they’re flat out stupid. They don’t need to be blown away by offer. Sure they absolutely need to say that for obvious reason but if they actually believe that then they will fail in this experiment.

No one needs to look further than teams like buffalo Ottawa Chicago etc etc with tons of picks in first 2 rounds in multiple years and how fast a rebuild can be accelerated.

You simply have to move on from players like tk laughts that have value no matter how much you like them.

It seems flyers sitting on seesaw right now. All they need to do is open their eyes. The fanbase is all on board of teardown. Especially since michkov pick. Even excited. No one is excited to see tk and laughts back

Yes I heard this and really, really want to believe this, but come on, if Arizona drafted him he wouldn't say the same thing? In the end, he is an impressive young man with high confidence and seems mature already. I especially liked it when he talked about his Dad, it made me tear up a bit, given I have two young ones of my own that are already nationally ranked in their sport. I really hope this works out, because as we already know, hitting on a top prospect leaps your franchise forward, while missing on a top prospect sets your franchise back for years.
- jd250

Well, he met with the Flyers twice, once in Voorhees. He did not meet with Arizona and by some accounts avoided meeting with them. There are no other reports that he traveled to any other city to meet in person with any other team. I would take him at his word.

If it is a 2nd, I would want a decent prospect attached.

Not something I have to take seriously. You just said that Ristolainen had a very solid season defensively.

Yes, like I said I want to believe him. Just seems odd to me a player for Russia wants to play for the Flyers, versus other NHL teams that have more Russian players or have had more success over the past decade. But hey, if he really wants to play for the Flyers and the Flyers can actually get him here, I am all in! Everyone, I mean Everyone says he is a game breaker .. exactly what the Flyers have needed forever it seems.

Without positional need and preference, Perrault was the most skilled player available when the Flyers drafted but everyone knew the Flyers wanted to draft a dman at 22.
- Flyers_01

Cristall is even more skilled than Perreault but he's also a bit slow-footed, undersized and has iffy compete.

BPA =/= most skilled player available.

Flyers already have too many small and/or slow-ish forwards, especially at RW.

I'm sure they're considering this and fitting it into their plan. Teams just didn't want to part with picks this year, it seemed.

To me there's no rush to move TK or Laughts. TK, especially, is someone you need to make sure you get good value in return. Both may be more valuable at the deadline.

If there's a deal for Sanheim that makes sense you can do before 7/1 then do it. Maybe Calgary wants someone who is from there and is locked up long term.

If Atkinson can prove he's healthy, maybe he's another guy who has a little value at the deadline.

If they can be under the cap without having to use LTIR for Ellis then they'll be in a good position at the deadline to use that banked cap space to take contracts for assets.

Yep I’d be fine for ‘24 or ‘25 picks especially if higher pick. This is multi year process

I would think that Mikhail Gulyayev has higher upside but he's 5'10" and a lefty. The league is a copycat league and saw what the Vegas Knights defense did in the playoffs.

At this point it doesn't matter. I hope Bonk exceeds expectations.

So far the Briere regime has provided evidence that they are in fact in rebuilding mode and as of now and warrant the benefit of the doubt regarding trust they are in fact punting current value for future value.

And on tk he will be 29 when Michkov comes over.. if they decide they want him around for the early window of prospective contention it's fine.

Half the league passed over Perrault for some reason. I’ll take the D man. Settling down play in our own end is as big an issue as anything with this team. At least we already have a pretty deep well of wing prospects imo.

It's gonna be fun to look back at this draft in 5-6 years and see which teams were prescient and which were just deluded.

Eiserman - Could go #1

Some defensemen with top pairing potential

Kiviharju
Richardinson
Mews

Top 5 pick next year and Flyers could either fill their need for another top 6 or a top pair

- Glak18

They won’t be too 5 next year if they still have laughts tk hart sanheim etc

It's a NTC. Full for years 1-4 and 12 team for the rest. I don't think it makes him nearly impossible to trade. Player just want to have control. At his age, if a situation presents itself, where a legit contender wants him, why wouldn't he agree?
- MJL

because he is comfortable here, likes being under no pressure, likes being anonymous, many reason why. Look at CC up until his last year.

If the Flyers use some of that new found cap space to take any salary for picks, I can live with it. It’d actually be a smart use of a valuable asset available to GMs that have it.

Now what if they both only hit their floors? Bonk will still be in the NHL. Perreault, not so much.
