Army said in the exit meeting that the Blues wanted to get younger players with term. Why the (frank) are they looking at Hayes then. I guess it was more Sanheim and hayes was thrown in???? Makes no sense for the Blues to be after Hayes at all. Krug was a terrible signing since day 1. Blues lost Petro over 500k and a ntc but give one to Krug. Gets injured every year and is not a good defenseman - BluesDroogie
Make no mistake, its Sanheim they want, but without Krug I think the entire deal falls apart. The Blues need to get another team involved that Krug is willing to play for, and that team knows the Flyers will be desperate to trade Sanheim before July 1st and try to fleece Briere. I see very little chance this deal happens. |

my guess is the prospect is Ryan Suzuki, C, Chicago Wolves (28th overall in 2019). He has upside but his game still lacks aggressiveness, think Frost before this season. - jd250
Suzuki isn't a "low level prospect" tho.

Classic Flyers. Can't do anything right - mr4tno
It wasn’t the Flyers who did anything wrong here. The Blues GM should’ve checked with the player who had a NMC before tentative agreeing to make a deal. |

Yes, a lot of interest from those teams that have aging mediocre defenseman on bad contracts that want to replace them with a younger mediocre defenseman. Sanheim contract is by far the worst move Fletcher made as Flyers GM, its was reckless and just plain stupid. The player is not that good to begin with and never deserved an 8 year contract. - jd250

I don’t see the Blues gm Army doing this without any knowledge. I think if anything it was more of an attempt to force Krug to accept it if anything. These player trades don’t get leaked in these types of deal with Army ever. Never hear trade rumors unless someone has requested one. Army keeps his stuff in house This is the first time I’m hearing of names being tossed around |

Sanheim was the main player and Hayes was thrown in with salary retention ok. Yeah. Looks like Krug is not going to waive so the deal is effectively dead. Things could change. Let’s see |

Flyers front office full of connected ex-media guys... wild guess which team is guilty of the leaks.

If you mean he was drafted 28th overall, sure, but has done nothing since then and is not close to the NHL, that is why I think it's him. |

He's still a B-prospect at worst.
It sounds like the Flyers are getting the Canes' version of Carsen Twarynski.

Specialist Patrick Sharp also meets the criteria of the original statement but I doubt we will ever really know and it's not the worst thing for the Flyers.
As a PR move it wouldn't be bad. Here we all are talking about the Flyers in a positive way, in the offseason. Fan engagement is up and do the leaks really hurt anything?

The Sanheim contract is not even close to the worst move he made. That would be the Ristolainen trade and the subsequent re-signing. Sanheim is a solid two way defenseman which is the reason why there is interest. |

Massimo Rizzo - 21 yr old sophomore in college and 200 ft player at center.
Hopefully not but he definitely qualifies as a low end prospect. Probably their lowest at center. |

He sure did, goes back to jr. Hes made some progress but would love another gear, he has skill. Needs to use it. |

The ADA trade (negotiated against himself) was pretty bad. Haven't we learned not to trade with Carolina as we never come out ahead |

You're going to have to do better than this. A lack of aggressiveness was not his issue. This is a player that has done nothing but improve, every year. |

Frost was definitely not an aggressive play driver until this past year. In fact it was mid year that he started showing initiative. That is not me busting on him that is just what we all saw. As a young player I understand it takes time 1-3 years to build confidence and find your way in the NHL.
To his credit he did find that confidence and I would share that credit with the coaching staff.
Frost, Tippett and TK are Torts biggest development wins on the team so far.

Not at all. I don’t want Hayes and his contract. Even if 50% retained. I hope the blues could do something to better the defense which has been terrible the last few years. Krug alone doesn’t move the needle for me and bringing back a overpriced contract is not good either. Sanheim really doesn’t seem to help the Blues just gets them away from Krug. Blues signed Leddy and Scandella and those contracts hurt. The only defensemen I would keep if I’m starting over and can trade anyone would be Faulk. He is fine. Parayko MAYBE keep. |
