Why would Fitzgerald even at half the cost want Krug. Doesn’t make any sense especially with 4 years of term.

Agents are a big channel for those guys. Otherwise, same internal channels BUT from more organizations. Most importantly, GMs and AGMs will tell guys like Friedge and LeBrun and especially Bob McKenzie (even in semi-retirement) more than they'll tell anyone else.

In terms of internal info during the season, some coaches tell broadcasters way more than they tell writers. Torts, for instance. Some say no more or no less. AV, for example. Chief would say relatively little with the cameras or mics turned on, then once turned off, be brutally honest about most anything you wanted to know as long as it was within a group he trusts. I had some ins that regard because Bundy is one of his best friends and he held Jay Greenberg in very high esteem. I knew Chief had come to trust me when he walked past the locker room where I was chatting with Bundy, gave me his infamous death stare and then winked.

Hitch LOVED to invite reporters into his office and educate them on his decisions via looooong explanations and video. Some reporters ate it up because they thought he was everyone's buddy outside the locker room. Those who knew Hitch best said he did it to control the narrative as much as possible. I will say, though, those sessions were fun and good for picking up nuances.

I’m glad things have worked out well for you Bill. I’ve been on this site for a long time (less now with the state of the Flyers), but you’ve always been a gentleman, patient, and a damn good writer, blogger, journalist (?). Thanks for the insight all these years.

Gonna be a long year. I will say this, most excited for an off season in a long time. 4 picks and counting in the first round of this one and next. Feels good.

It’s a total tear down. And it is necessary. This team has been toxic for a decade.

Too many slow starts. Too few sixty minute efforts. Too many losing streaks. Too many fringe players. And they traded their one superstar instead of building to get him a Cup. And Flyers fans treated him like trash by calling him Fraude.

Dumba is the top.UFA in an otherwise underwhelming class. Next tier is Johnson and Orlov who will get more then 4 yrs. Flyers retain salary Krug 4 yrs @ 4 million pretty good value. No doubt Krug had a bad season, does that wipe out the previous 5 good years? Guess, we're about to find out.

Long overdue and well-received. Love that Danny Big Balls has a plan and is doing his best to execute it. I’m fine with some lean years so long as there is a plan. With the way the D looks next year part of the plan is to have a top 3 pick. Harts likely out too then. Don’t put that guy through this unless he’s up for it.

I love it.

They are going to stink next year and I’ll actually watch them. Because I’ll understand the plan and enjoy watching the youth grow.

This past season I watched less than 10% of the games. Maybe less than 5%. They were a rudderless ship.

Sounding like just Hayes to the Blues for basically nothing back. Which I’m fine with. Krug not likely to waive his NTC.

It’s Krug’s prerogative. I think there are better and less expensive options than Hayes out there. I wonder if the deal actually gets done and how much retention is involved.

Maybe they can bring in a third team to facilitate the deal. In Danny we trust.

It just sounds like he’s content to stick it out in St Louis. Maybe he’s looking for some green to waive his NMC.

Didn’t consider that lol. Well I guess it’s be easier. But I’m not too worried about an NTC with our situation

Its a 15 team no trade list so that leaves 17 teams that may be a possibility as a third party. Git er dun Danny B.

I didn’t realize that. Reading some of Friedmans tweets I thought it was a full no movement clause.
