I’d be fine with that. They will need to draft a dman if they send out sanheim which looks like it’ll happen. This formula on d hasn’t worked so I have no issue with them turning it all over. They are likely high on York but they need to find a way to get rid of risto as well. - Hextall271
Not really as that pick wont be reads for years. |

If Risto has a solid season his trade value will go up, I could see him as a deadline deal in that scenario. |

I don’t care who they move but I think I would wait on Carter Hart. I know we aren’t in a situation to refuse deals but let’s say we turn things around in three years. A playoff team at least. He’s 28, paid while the other guys aren’t. I think that’s a reasonable age to put us in a good position in net. |

I agree, I see the Flyers in a good position either way with Hart, as long as Hart stays consistent, plays well under the circumstance, no legal issues and is healthy, take your time and let it play out, unless blown away.

A GM would really have to be desperate to take on Ristolainen with 3 more years left. With the state of the Flyers, Ristolainen having a solid season is unlikely. |

The only thing that may block a RR deal is that the if all the speculated trades go through, they will be maxed out on retained salary spots. Teams can have a max of 3. Lindblom is still being paid by the Flyers. |

Lindblom was a buyout. Not a retained salary transaction. |

all depends on RR season, he made some progress last season, it cost all of his O side, but he added some back as the season went along. If he can maintain that, there should taker. Teams like size and skating for the playoffs, my opinion, under the scenario above that will have a GM take a chance. It could easily go the other way, RR will most likely be playing above his level with the current D.

Playoff teams might have interest in a player like Ristolainen in a depth role for the playoffs if he was on an expiring contract. Why would a playoff level team have interest in a mediocre at best defenseman with 3 more years left on his deal? The chances are remote. Not the kind of player teams have interest in at the deadline with term left. A player would have to be a really good player to take that on. |

And as well if the cap takes a big jump…5.1 becomes a lot more doable. He’s still a decent player. Big, fairly mobile, physical. He may be a decent trade option and not a cap giveaway as some seem to think. |

Reported by Friedman that Leclair shared the same agent as Krug and has made a sales pitch for what that’s worth. |

It’s just as likely I think that he would want to go back to Boston with the Flyers helping to facilitate a trade. In any event, the perception for him has to be that the Blues are ready to move on from him so there’s motivation to change his mind. |

I think Krug leaves STL and Sanheim goes there. Only unknown now is whether Krug plays for the Flyers or another team. I kind of get Krug to hopefully mentor York besides the shorter term involved.

Don’t know if anyone said this, if so O apologize. This morning on NHL Radio, I think it was Jeff Marek who said the snag with TDA trade was that the Flyers can’t retain salary if trading the same player back to the previous team until a whole calendar year has passed. |

It would be such a Flyers thing that they hired a front office person just to do a sales pitch on a player that in any other scenario would be a cap dump |

like who? He has never played in a playoff game, that has to be a factor as well.

Flyers are going to need a veteran or two to help the young D corps. Perhaps Briere is promising Kruger to try to move him to a team of his choosing in the meantime. Who knows. If this goes through and the Flyers land a late 1st and get rid of Hayes and Sanheim contracts it’s a win. |

Gotta sorta feel for the guy. He negotiated a NTC presumably to have stability for himself and his family and now people are making him out to be a bad guy for not wanting to waive what he rightfully earned from StL. It’s a business though and their business end can be vicious. |

Suppisedly the cap will start to rise significantly after next season. I fully expect Krug later in his contract to morph into a Streit role. Veteran Dman on 3rd pair to run the PP. Flyers retain salary when he gets moved. I very much doubt the Flyers will be Krug's last team he plays for on his current contract. |

Yes they are but why get one who seems to be in decline and has 3 more years at 6.5M. Sanheim is a pretty good player. There should be zero rush to move him.
