I’m very concerned with this one since we resigned Okposo. That was a major part of it IMO

The idea of 3 years from now has blinded many from what’s right in front of them.

Adams has to rely on free agency/trading pieces of what he drafted (which is strictly potential) to address it which there is no indication he will do.

Next season is currently built on the hope of linear progression

I believe that I read that Mitts actually had very good numbers there. I think Greenway as well, although I am less sure about that.

Zach Benson tied or led the WHL with 6 SH goals this past season. I know doesnt help the present. Just a little tid bit.

What have you seen him do that suggests or indicates that he is ready, willing or even able to pull off a trade or two for impact players to help win now? That's the crux of the convo.

I can't wait. I predict he plays and never goes back.

I hate to say it but Rousek is a guy that looks like he's doing a lot, but really doesn't end up with the production to match. He hasn't been a ppg player since 2017 in U20, but isn't physical either. I'm not sure I see a place for him in the long term. He can stop gap Quinn for a while, but Jacky will be sorely missed during that time.

Still wild to me that he fell. I was absolutely lambasting folks who were saying he was falling to 13. I really don't see any flaw in his game outside size...really, like that's it. He plays a lot bigger than he is too.

He traded for his friend's son a few months ago. Does Doug weight have a defenseman son?

He reminds me of Skinner, except a witch on the defensive side (whereas Skinner is decidedly not)

His skating doesn't look that bad to me honestly. Know you're a big rhinofan as well but his pre draft skating looked far worse to me. No offense 😆

Mitts certainly looked good last season, especially towards the end.

Wonder if he's at an alltime value?

I think management loves him and expect an eye popping extension.

Corey Perry would have been a valuable replacement for either Girgs or Okposo.

I don't see the knock on his skating... He doesn't look the fastest but hes not slow. And his edgework is actually pretty decent IMO.

Now that we drafted benson I am happy but there was some immediate disappointment that Buffalo didn’t do something more interesting. Oh well, onward and upward!

Corey Perry? Really?

C'mon, take the challenge. Ralph is shown the door and you're now the GM. You earlier made the statement that the last three years have been failures (I think you're the only sword swallower that goes that far). Lets hear how the troll does at the job.

Yeah Sam was way behind there, super flat footed, skated like Matty Mo. I don't see that critique with Benson, the more I watch the more I think he's an elite skater. He's not a top speed, foot race guy, but his edgework is immaculate.

I think in that sense he is also like Skinner. Skinner isn't fast, and I don't think he is terribly quick either. He moves well in tight spaces so that it is really never an issue.

He was once the league's #1 prospect, unfortunately we will never sell him for that price...but it's at an all time high for his pro career. I'm with you on the latter part. Donny likes him and wants him to be his next Tage-Turnaround.

Does Benson make you a little less confident in that? They certainly aren't drafting like they set on their forwards.

Is it possible plans changed once they found out Quinn got hurt…again? They might have been ready to unload the farm for X but reassessed after a core player got hurt.

Kinda reminds me of Mitts. Mitts was actually slow his first few years. Last 2 he has looked noticeably faster.

Think after he was able to complete 1 pull up and more his skating improved also. Anyone know if benson can do a pullup?

I'm fairly confident in this group , especially at the draft.

Benefit of the doubt, looks very promising.

Just kicking around the idea.... mitts probably has some decent value, but our system could definitely be a big part of his success.
