I wouldnt fold their draft results into their off season grade. Getting Benson is nice, but it's an F if they cant make the necessary changes to the existing team that just barely missed last year.

Exactly right. I am interested in their future, but at this point it is not the only thing on their radar. The immediate success matters because it's there for the taking.

I will argue he is not useless. He has been statistically proven to be an impactful defensive forward. Those are just the facts. Now he doesn't score for poop. But last time I heard, the Sabres score a ton of goals already. Zemgus is stained by the failures of the last decade +, but that should have no bearing on next season.
