Dubois extension is 8 years, $68 million.

That seems like a nice haul for Winnipeg considering they had them over a barrel. Kopi, PLD and Denault up the middle is a pain in the ass team to play.

Unfortunately I think more like 12x8, and we'll be lucky if we can keep him. He'll have that contract year bump under his belt and he can force his hand out quite easily with the Tkachuk thing and now PLD reinforcing this route as an option for players. I really think Petey was laying the groundwork for an exit that offseason when he talked about wanting to play for a winner, wherever that is.

Mismanaged again. Not all this regime's fault, just a vancity thang. Calling him pouty for a couple years probably didn't help.

If Elias Pettersson scores around 100 points again you give him the 9-10 million a year, all day, every day. You don’t trade a franchise player because he wants what the market says he worth, you pay him and build around him.

If you don’t have the cap space, then be better at your job and manage your teams money better. Lots of teams are paying a franchise player that kind of money.

They have the money to re-sign him, but does it make sense to lock out the rest of your team build? If Boeser is his winger and his first pair D has Myers on it where do you think the team will end up?

I like the player personally but signing him at 10 mil and the rest of your team is the Canucks it sort of reminds me like owning a Rolls Royce and living in a tent on Hastings.
