Dorion says he doesn't believe the Senators will obtain a first round selection for tomorrow's draft. #GoSensGo
Adds that this was a year not to have a first round pick based on his scouting evaluations.
Although the answer is maybe, Ottawa isn't the best team to listen too about scouting. |

If he’s there I think they take him. - LeftCoaster
Reinbacher, Willander or Simashev if any of them are there unless Dvorsky drops. I'd expect those 4 then if all are gone maybe Danielson or Barlow. |

Teams just giving players away for nothing after signing them to bad deals. Boston and Philly got hosed for Hall and Hayes. |

Left shot. I really think they should address the always present issue of not having a solid R shot in the prospect system instead. Plus he is a offensive black hole. |

He’s be a great partner for Hughes or Hronek. Skating is all-world! Transitions the puck really really well and is a good defender. Absolutely nothing wrong with that as they have two young offensive guys already. |

How we doing on the trade Bear front? Can we expect a first in return? |

Hayes goes for a sixth round pick and Hall goes for scraps, what do you think we will get for Boeser Garland and Myers? |

Wouldn't you rather have a right shot beside Hughes? Willander can skate and defend and is better at offense on top of that... a fit with Hughes on the right side.
Left shot are much easier to acquire by other means or in later rounds.

Not wrong in that Cole McWard is the best prospect right shot D the team has where as D-Petey made a big improvement this season and is looking like a capable 2nd pairing guy now instead of a 3rd pairing defender.
Draft year numbers although in different leagues are near identical.
Simashev KHL 18 games 0 points, MHL 29 games 10 points
Pettersson SHL 17 games 1 point, Jrs 37 games 18 points
D-Petey might have had a better season than Liam Bischel who was taken 22nd by Dallas in the same draft. |

Durzi went for a 2nd round pick. He was a replacement level 3rd pairing defender in LA last season. 24 yrs old. |

I don’t disagree, I just think his skating is the best I’ve seen. Happy with either though all things being equal. |

I don’t think Allvin is in a position to where he has to give anyone away for nothing, like those other guys. They already bit their bullet with the OEL buyout. |

That was probably the discussion if they will take on OEL at half for a late round pick. Honestly a year or two ago those players would have cost a 1st or 2nd round pick to get rid off at half price. Now they actually yield a return. |
