Girard and Makar. I agree with what you’re saying, but let’s be accurate.

Didn't he play 7 games in the playoffs, during their cup run?

Pretty sure it was a 5th for bear, but great effort

That was the direct trade but prior to that to create the cap space they sent a second to Chicago with D!ckenson. Reported later was to create cap space when they could LTIR to then bring in Bear.

Bottom line is they used a 2nd as a sweetener so the Hawks would take D!ckinson to create cap space which was used mostly to fit Bear. They said the Hawks trade was for cap reasons and I should hope so. Stillman is not worth a center and a 2nd....

So Bear used the cap space a 2nd was traded for. It's not complicated. Original poster was right.

Also in the package for Bear was Lane Pederson who the Canucks lost on waivers to the Blue Jackets.

I really like what the Kings are doing. They are going for PLD and Hellybuck. Going all in.They are forcing Canucks to make very big moves if they want to make the playoffs.

Another team that was drafting at the very top of the draft years ago and is now out there trading for lots of NHL talent.

Nashville has 22 picks in the first 4 rounds of the next 3 drafts. 20M in cap space. Sounds like a trade partner for Van.

Nashville with 6.25M in dead cap space the next two seasons.

Saw something yesterday that said Carolina has re-signed Jordan Staal to a 4 year deal at 2.9M AAV. 35 years old when next season starts.

Unfortunately 10 years of not really going in any direction has put us back another 10 years… at least Mcdavid will be out of our division by the time we’re competitive.

So far it doesn't seem there's a demand for VAN's players like before the buyout. Allvin must still be getting lowballed.

From this morning off of Twitter, sounds like they are getting close on a deal for PLD.

"All eyes on the #GoKingsGo as they try to get to the finish line with the #GoJetsGo to acquire Pierre-Luc Dubois. Multiple players/pieces would be going to Winnipeg if this gets done, including Gabe Vilardi and Alex Iafallo, and an extension for PLD would be expected."

Teams were most certainly trying to get guys for free from teams against the cap. Colorado did, just not from a team against the cap but for a very good price. I had mentioned before that Nashville might be a team that Van could get a center from since they looked like they would have extra.

Defence fetching a very good price and centers with size as well. That's where the appeal for Danielson might come in.

Yager, Stenberg, Moore the other centers around that 11th spot are all 5'11". Higher upside in offence in the three smaller centers.

I wouldn't call him "my boy" Just someone I wouldn't mind drafting in the later rounds.

Picking Danielson takes VAN to Rd3 for their D search unless Allvin lucks out and finds a trade partner. Danielson likely won't be contributing right away. Keeping an eye on Columbus as well. Looks to be a busy week.

We will see how this develops throughout the next day or so, but hearing this morning that Torey Krug is leaning towards not waiving his no-trade clause.

Danielson will contribute probably earlier than most of the D around there. Not a reason to pick him over a D though. More likely to get a better D in the 3rd than a C though.

You should ask your buddy Rick D. if Canucks are still interested in Ross Colton? He was rumoured to want to play in NJ but with Haula signing and cap space leaving that team real quickly. Re-ignited interest in Colton maybe.

11 Vancouver - David Wong, OrcaBlue, Axel Sandin-Pellikka, D, Skelleftea Jr. (SWEDEN-JR.)
12 Arizona via OTT - slimtj, TJ Reilly, Dimitri Simishov, D, Yaroslavl Jr. (RUSSIA-JR.)
13 Buffalo - Paul Schott, lonsabres, Tom Willander, D, Rogel BK, Sweden

Who is David Wong and why did he pick ASP over Simashev and Willander?

21 Minnesota - TC88, Todd Piepho, [email protected], Brayden Yager, C, Moose Jaw, (WHL)

That would be pretty good value to get him at 21.
